It's different from the average shounen, they said
It's a "deconstruction", they said
But you haven't even reached the deconstruction arc, you moron. The rest of it is just extremely well-written shounen material (besdies Yorknew which is more seinen in its politics and multi strained plotting).
Oh boy get a load of this faggot
what's wrong with Togashi? I really hoped this time we'll get more chapters after this goddamn long hiatus. but not only the chapters weren't realesed weekly, but after 2 fucking months another hiatus!? I love the series and I'm sure it would be the most popular manga along with One Piece (hell, even now it's selling great, imagine what would it be like with Oda's work ethic), if not for this lazy bum.
At this point it's best to give up on HxH. Given that the DC arc will be as long as Chimera Ant (which took over a decade I believe), it won't be nearing completion for a looong time.
>muh I can use all the powers perfectly when my eyes turn red
Grade A bull shit
>actually using the word deconstruction
you're beyond full of shit m8
HxH isn't the only battle shounen to do that, and in his case it just ends up being a case of using a double edged sword. Luffy does the exact same thing during the white beard war and Gohan as well when he fights Cell and they both experience actual tragedies as a result since Luffy loses his brother due to his constant over exertion of himself leading to all the damage finally catching up to him and Ace needing to protect him and Gohan's arogance as a result of all his power leads to him not killing Cell in time and Goku being forced to give up his own life to stop him from blowing up the planet. No part of HxH is a deconstruction of battle shounen, let alone a real subversion since there are tons of battle shounen that handle tons upon tons of different tropes in a variety of different ways.
It's shounen with a twist and "subversion" of tropes. Not a deconstruction.
>main character chases his amazing dad for the entire story... oh but his dad looks like a deadbeat who everyone hates and is basically a horrible father
>main character isn't completely clueless about romance and women
>main character has a fucked up sense of morality
>Biscuit's "true form" looks more stupid than awesome
>most dangerous criminal group known to mankind is a bunch of bros
These are all things which make HxH great.
People need to look up what a deconstruction is before they start spouting it about. Someone used it wrong once, more people followed, then it probably gained some amorphous new meaning that changes depending on whatever the speaker wants it to be.
Seriously, just stop using it.
She was intended to be a girl but the author changed it in the early chapter just watch the old anime and see how kurapika acts when leorio trips over him and when they were forced to share room.
Yes, and that's because Derrida's philosophy has nothing to do with anime, it never had and it will never have. Each time people bring it up they fuck it up and misinterpret it more and more to the point that now you've got a whole bunch of morons trying to comprehend his whole work by reading poorly written Wikipedia entries just to be able to spill some cookie-cutter pretentious speech about muh philosophy whenever some faggot asks what's so great about Meduka.
If you took anyone who called something a "deconstruction" seriously than you're a fucking idiot.
But HxH is still great.
>It's a "deconstruction", they said
>Listening, ever, to anyone who seriously uses the word "deconstruction"
If you have seen this could you please answer on question: is it actually that good? (2011)
After looking a bit in to it I think I actually may like it. Never liked battle shonens, but I enjoyed Naruto when I was younger and still think that FMA BH was fucking excellent. Nowadays I only watch 2deep4u stuff and mostly read manga.
