This anime has honestly changed my life.

I went into it not expecting much, considering that was hyped to shit . Holy fucking shit , I was I blown away. I was hooked, like a baby to a tit with creamy foamy milk. I could feel the energy and hype flowing through my body, bringing light to my dull life. I resonated with Peco. I could feel his struggle and his desire to surpass his limitations, something that struck me hard. Everything suddenly stopped when I heard the words:

BLOOD TASTES LIKE IRON

and I started trembling. That was me, I feel like my blood has tasted like iron these past years. I haven't been able to hold a steady job, my grades were starting to slip, and my parents suspect that I'm gay. It was right then and there that I knew that I had to get my shit together. I can't think of any other anime that has had such a profound effect on me, let alone on the first episode. Tomorrow, I'm going to be a better man. Thank you, Ping Pong, thank you.

Art was visually more appealing, straying away from the usual art look of this decade's choosing, though not so far it's so absurd and they label it as some sort of deep, and celebratory hipster shit. Art is art, and they used a non-traditional style in order to draw in hipsters and wannabe artsy fucks.

OP and EDs were better (Though Ping Pong's Remix ED after episode 6 was great)

And Haikyuu had about the same amount of flashbacks as Ping Pong, given a 14 episode difference, Ping Pong relied on the past too much. Hiding things from the viewers until it was convenient to bring it up. That's just lazy.

The pong may have been better than the volley because it relied on such fantastical scenes to keep it exciting, though we all know that Ping Pong was more than a show about actually playing ping pong.


Although there were losers and winners, falling out and redemption, Haikyuu overall provided much more emotion to their scenes, this will be in my opinion, as some people enjoy seeing a more realistic emotion out of fictional characters while I enjoy the sweet sweet tears and smiles of cute boys.

Both series had a diverse cast of people who had intentions far beyond winning just to win, but I like a teamwork approach far more than individualism that was shown in Ping Pong.

Finally, the boys were cuter. I watch for cuteness not for realism. If it were so, I would go watch a documentary or go outside. This is anime, give me my escapism.
