I attend a Japanese university as a full-time student. It's not all it's cracked up to be. Japanese don't want to know foreigners, they just want someone to make fun of. At first, I was making a bunch of friends, but then when they found out I was "normal," they suddenly lost interest in me. On the other hand, I've seen foreigners who are fucking weird, and dance in the streets (no not break dance or something like that, but really folk dance), and the Japanese just love them.

How? Is it through your university, one of those weird American-Japanese colleges, or did you simply apply to a Japanese university?
I've been looking into this for a while but am not sure how I'd be able to get over there. My university is one of the largest in the countries but still has a shit-tier japanese exchange program (you have to be able to prove your fluency and only the top two students in the entire Japanese language department are chosen).
