Railgun is better than Index.
Try to prove its not.
Protip: You can`t
Index is completely irredeemable. Railgun at least has the sisters arc and the manga, and I liked the first half of S1 as well. But when Railgun is bad, it's every bit as irredeemable as Index.
>Kuroko best grill
>Misaka a best
Noot noot scroob
I would disagree that teleporters would be shit tier.
Although, assuming Accelerator could feel the vector change when they position themselves in the 11th dimension, Accelerator would always win.
Everyone knows Chico is best gril.
All yall niggas bugging. Misaka best grill.
kuroko a cute
muh descendant of nubian ancestry
I don't know why I enter these threads expecting them to be any good
Kuroko a best
>Railgun: Nothing Happens and the Protagonist Gets Her Thunder Stolen At The End of Each Arc The Manga
Reminder that Kuroko was supposed to be the protagonist of the Railgun manga, in fact, Kamachi wrote quite a bit of her as the star before being told it was Misaka who star in the science-side manga.
Index is just the story of everything getting worse regardless of what the protagonists do, so it's really not all that different.
No one in the story has any agency, so it's not really a Railgun thing.
The manga is good, you fag. Not as good as the best Index novels, but still one of the highlights of the franchise. And it was a good decision. I can't see a Kuroko story being as entertaining as current Railgun.
The only really good parts in index are parts that involve espers, rather than the mages. So yeah, as a whole I enjoyed Railgun more. But, the parts that follow Accelerator's story are far more interesting than anything in railgun.
Railgun is excellent as is, but I think that a Kuroko story would have the opportunity to be just as good. Seeing Academy City from below instead of from above, that kind of thing.
Also we'd get to see Kuroko faces other than shocked and evil.
I guess "below" was the wrong word, Hamazura is certainly low enough. What I was looking for was "common." After all, the vast majority of Academy City lives in the light and is only impacted by the wake of the darkness.
>Index is completely irredeemable
You obviously haven't read the LN so you're a filthy secondary and not realizing the anime wasn't that bad.
>You obviously haven't read the LN so you're a filthy secondary
No shit captain. Look at who fucking made the thread and the amount of namefags. This thread is full of cancerous anime-onlyfags.
>/a/ - Anime & Manga
>/a/ - Anyone who didn't read the LN is a philistine
Even though I liked railgun, I gotta agree with you; first half of s2 (sisters arc) was so boring my dick almost fell off
I don't think the story is bad or anything, just the execution wasn't entertaining
I'm re-downloading the series and I'm wondering what the best fansub for Index 1 is. I believe it's Eclipse, right? Do they have any 1080p BD version tho? I can't seem to find any from them.
If anyone can help, I'll dump something interesting.
Maon's career isn't.
As for Mami, Japan will find a way to save her career. Just believe.
i really liked the sisters, they were adorable and all, but I didn't like the several episodes of all the side characters being pushed to the side for misaka to go play batman ala christian bale; I guess I got into railgun for sol and humor, and didn't mind some arcs and action, but basically it was all commiserating and drawn out fight scenes without the stuff I liked to balance it out for a while.
I'm like six episodes into Index and will probably stop watching. Will probably give Railgun a shot, but I really don't like any character and the narrative pacing is fucking atrocious.
It's shame because I liked what the first episode or two seems to have promised, and it's fucking completely disappeared.
The Sisters arc was the main and only reason Railgun was conceived in the first place. This is a Mikoto story, not a 4-girls group SoL that the first season tried to sell.
Hell, even the anime shoehorned a SoL filler episode in the middle of terrorist Biribiri action. You can't fucking complain.
the first season of railgun is the only reason I soldiered through the first half of s2, it's plenty of delightful and entertaining SOL and humor and cute girls doing cute things which gave me enough investment in the characters to sit through what I thought was boring with S2.
I'm actually giving index a shot now
Most of the SOL and humor was Nagai. Hell, he had nothing at all to do with the second arc, where the side characters had a larger role.
Kamachi in general really doesn't believe in the "power of friendship". Most of the people who team up in this series despise eachother and split off as soon as they can.
I'm not complaining, I like the show overall, and am checking out index as a result. I liked the plot behind the sisters arc, not the execution with excessive brood and extended fight scenes.
so i've heard, but I'm giving it a shot anyways since I already like the characters.
You guys are all dumbasses
Clearly Simpsdex is the best one
bet you haven't read shit about the series and you are just baiting
>the hentai wizard
please go and stay go fucking trip nigger
bet you are one of those facebook faggots who come to /a/
Well, the plot would be different. If Kuroko was the protagonist of Railgun the setting probably would have evolved to slowly and surely have her circling the drain leading to Academy City's dark side.
railgirls aren't meant for fucking you filthy barbarian, just cuddling and handholding
Kuroko is one of these characters that would get instantly killed in the dark side of the city. Just looking at volume 8, she would have been a stain on the ground had Mikoto and Touma not bailed her out. She's not powerful or competent enough to hold her own against it.
I bet the story would only have her handling minor thugs as part of Judgement job.
>would have been a stain on the ground had Mikoto and Touma not bailed her out
The list of characters would be stains on the ground if X had not bailed them out includes pretty much everyone in the series. Including Aleister.
I don't mind the idea of lighthearted SoL filler, but Nagai is an unimaginative hack that completely wastes the setting's potential for it.
Cast is superpowered schoolgirls?
>Fuck it, lets just have them shop and gush over food ad infinitum.
School full of deranged superpowered ojou-samas?
>Fuck it, maid episode with some more food.
Dorm manager that scares the shit out of said ojou-samas?
>You know what would fit perfectly here? A daycare romance!
A motherfucking holodeck?
>Hey, maybe we could take inspiration from god knows how many episodes of star trek and do something differe... fuck it, beach and picnic episode.
Its like he wrote this crap for a completely different show.
The point is that Kuroko would not have powerful or influential people by her side to bail her out all the time. If it is only Mikoto then it would be just her saving her all the time.
He could have animated these SoL chapters instead, even if they contradict Kongou's character established in the anime.
The manga does slice of life infinitely better than Nagai.
Don't be like that. Nagai excels at drama and character driven plots. It's just that he sucks at almost everything else. And the Sisters arc is the only arc in this series with the former.
Goddess of space and stars. I'm sticking to my artificial magic god theory.
Kuroko chases a sinister mystery into the the backstreets, where she teams up with Kuruwa and Index to beat the darkness back into the shadows where it belongs
Guest appearances by Gunha, Touma, Accelerator, Mikoto, MISAKA, Misaki, Yomikawa, and pretty much anyone else who could conceivably bail them out of deep shit when they inevitably get in over their heads
Uiharu and Saten offering phone support
Hopefully, when Misaka connects to the Misaka Network, for her inevitable powerup in the poor attempt in making her relevant, her consciousness becomes so damaged that the WIll is forced to take over her body. That way we finally have best Misaka and the shitty one is dead. Now, Touma will no longer feel scared when he is ever around and Index will no longer have a reason to antagonize her. Win-win!
>We need only Crowley to change Misaka's archetype.
the best way to get rid of her shitty tsundere personality without harm her and replace her's old shitty tsundere personality with based will-tan personality.
>A Certain Academy Index was actually about Crowley playing with his archetype control
"What the fuck did you just fucking say about MISAKA, you little bitch?" MISAKA queries angrily. "MISAKA will have you know MISAKA graduated top of MISAKA’s class in the Testament, and MISAKA has been involved in numerous secret experiments on Accelerator, and MISAKA has over 300 confirmed clones. MISAKA is trained in gorilla warfare and MISAKA is the top sniper in the entire Academy City armed forces. You are nothing to MISAKA but just another test subject", MISAKA states. "MISAKA will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, and requests you mark MISAKA’s fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to MISAKA on the over the internet? think again, fucker. As we speak Misaka is contacting MISAKA’s secret network of clones across the city and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re fucking dead, kid. MISAKA can be anywhere, anytime, and MISAKA can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with MISAKA’s bare hands. Not only is MISAKA extensively trained in unarmed combat, but MISAKA has access to the entire arsenal of the ITEM secret armory and MISAKA will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. MISAKA will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo." MISAKA exclaims calmly.
>everything getting worse
I dunno, man.
Terra getting wrecked, the revolution being prevented and the greatest, most righteous and kindest ally of justice saving the world doesn't seem like "everything gets worse" to me.
I have never understood Mikoto's popularity.
Her crush is completely one-sided, besides falling in love with Touma she had no development at all and her actual relevance ended in volume 3; after that all she can do is shooting lightnings at things, since her involvement in the magic and keikaku is nonexistent. For the fuck's sake, she even became irrelevant in her own manga.
Even the tsundere personality isn't done right, because instead of going from tsun to dere and staying dere (which would require character development), she just tries to protect Touma or hurt Touma depending on the mood.
I do not really dislike her, she just has nothing to offer as a character. She's still in the story only because of tsunshekels.
I'd like to see some other people supporting Touma more. Mikoto's scenes are repetitive and boring. Thor, Clones, Accel, Shiage, Umidori, Itsuwa, Misaki, Fiamma, Othinus, Leivinia, Kaori, Tatemiya, Gunha, Double Jesus, Kakine, Lessar, Mark Space, Kumokawa sisters, Fukiyose, Aisa and even goddamn Stiyl - they all are much more entertaining than Mikoto and have more interesting relationship with Touma. And most of them could use some more screen time.
Gunha needs his own show where he leads a team of 5 Allies of Justice to fight against the injustice in the city.
I want Mikoto to die off and have a clone take her place
>No S3 made people salty
>we're in a gap between novels so regulars don't bother to visit the threads knowing they will just be mosty shitposting
>nothing really happening in Railgun or Accel
>THK shitting up the threads with spamming and copypasta
>for some reason a influx of anime-only fags and Railgun-fags shitting on the main series
Sorry, I can't stand Index. I attempted to read the LNs, I attempted to watch the anime. Absolutely terrible. On the other hand, I enjoy the Railgun manga and the parts of the Railgun anime that adapts it. The adaption of the Sisters Arc last year was really, really great, a hell of a lot better than any other Index related thing I have seen or read. I don't care if "Oh, but that was just an Index arc told differently" or whatever. I also don't care if Index is the true or main story and that a bunch of autists are proud and elitist over the fact that they have read a bunch of bad LNs.
I don't really understand.
They are the same story, written by the same person. Even the main characters of both series are somewhat similar. The only thing I can think of that could make you hate it is the magic, or the fact that Touma is a guy instead of a girl. Or maybe that the earlier novel translations just turned you off because of the shitty Chinese -> Japanese -> English translation. Otherwise, both series are pretty much the same
Not the same anon but I can explain. Touma is a faggot who chances along everything he is involved in. Meanwhile the Railgun series is more natural, is more contained, and has better tactical fights than Touma's fucking right hand punch after swallowing every bit of punishment he's not supposed to.
Oh and there's no Index. You also cannot say it's Misaka because me and my sisters hate Misaka so much in the Index anime, it was the Railgun anime that led us to understand who she was.
But Touma's fights in the novels are fairly tactical as well, and he rarely uses his hand to block everything.
And not to mention the last arc was pretty much just him and Gunha dodging or reflecting giant attacks at them. And Kuroko's tactic in the last fight was just to not teleport when someone thought she would.
I'm a Mikotofag but I can't help but agree with him.
The quality of character interaction with Touma would greatly improve if Will-tan replaced her instead. There isn't arguing about this.
i think kamachi waited too long to bring in the science side characters to team with touma. other than accel with wings they have no chance against non mooks. the magicians in hawaii were pretty much the weakest of gremlin and made stupid mistakes.
Well obviously there's going to be more Misaka action, but it's going to be ruined by terrible SoL fillershit in between the arcs.
Never if you give him attention. He gets his hit deleted frequently now and we've had good threads lately without him. Just ignore and he will go away.
I must be a hipster then.
I always thought the "science" in this 'verse was much, much worse and that most people didn't notice this because of how better written the science characters were than the magic counterparts (at least in the early arcs).
>the Railgun anime that led us to understand who she was
But that's not who Mikoto really was.
Shopping Mall Demonstration showed up her true face.
She's a sadistic cunt, like Mugino, but with less murder.
Battle Royale and Sisters in Railgun are pretty much the top tier science arcs. The other science arcs are a step below them.
The best arcs in the series are when both science and magic are involved, though.
you know what? 10eps into index, I'm really liking it. It isn't as SOL or cute girls doing cute things, but there's plenty of humorous interactions between toma, index, style, vampirekiller chick, etc... just got the the start of the sisters arc; I also recognize quite a few 'cameo moments' from railgun in the index story
fun show so far
wtf mang do you hate fun or something, all of that was incredibly entertaining and endearing
perhaps; but my main issue with sisters in railgun was the length; by episode names, It's clearly much much shorter in index and by context clues; the first we're going to see of it is toma v accelerator and then we'll move on to some other arc. I didn't like the stretch of episodes of misaka playing at depressed batman and kuroko being sad, and by chronology, the point where index is picking up on the sisters arc is already past that boring bit I disliked
If Kamachi does one thing well, it's the fun interactions between characters. Angel Fall (the body swap arc) had a ton of great ones in the LN that were cut out for whatever reason. Including Kanzaki molesting Touma.
If Kamachi wrote the Railgun SoL for JC Staff, it would be way better.
He can't handle too much waifu abuse.
Probably doesn't help that Biri just shocks her unconscious once dangerous shit starts happening to keep her out of trouble.
Really doesn't jive with the whole Power of Friendship, 4 girl team Nagai has going on,
