It was weird that Tougou was nowhere to be found at the end of this episode. As the camera was panning out after Fuu collapsed I expected it to show Tougou hanging out behind them, ready to help, but she wasn't even there.

I could see the show going down this route. That is basically how the samurai caste ended up taking over the real political power from the Imperial family and the court in Heian-Kyo. The Imperial Court employed them as soldiers/mercenaries for a long long time, but then eventually the Gushi began to realize that they were the only ones with actual military strength, and that on their own the Imperial Court was weak. So they began to assert their influence more and more, using retired Emperors to legitimize what was essentially bullying, until eventually the two most powerful clans fought it out in the Genpei War to see who would establish national dominance. The Minamoto caln vanquished their one-time allies the Taira and established the first Shogunate at Kamakura, wresting true political power away from the Emperor and setting up a new Samurai-dominant political system with the Imperial Family as a religious and symbolic figurehead, that would last for 700 or so years.

This is probably old news but. When I was rewatching the second episode I noticed that Sagittarius appeared in the real word and the barrier appeared after that. Does that mean that the Vertexes exist in the real world but Shinju just always hides them inside the barrier before anyone notices?

Never have I tasted suffering so palatable and delicious. Takahiro could had rushed the revelation of their permanent disability the episode after they activated their mankai.

Instead, he delayed it, giving us a false notion that it's just temporary and even have a cute slice of life onsen episode out of it.

Absolutely loved the build up that led to Fuu breaking. The music can't get any better either since it's a reminder of what was truly
lost from their sacrifice.
