It started to get a bit too repetitive, literary girl scenes was the worst offender and why would I make up my mind about something before it has finished? Sounds stupid as fuck, the show just got worse with each episode anyway.

I loved it, the buildup to the jokes, the character, the writing, the general setting of slice of life with a twist. It was one of the most enjoyable anime rides I had with high rewatachability. Every episode just felt different and had their own recognizable charms.

It just got better and better as it progressed, I was always interested in how the relationship between the two would evolve and wasn't disappointed. Its true they usually met at the river bank but every single senario was different, it was dorky and embarrassing at first but as the episodes progressed some romance actually bloomed from that, the literary girl ended up having a defined character by the end of it and made the experience enjoyable.

The only episode of Nichibros that was really funny was episode 6.

Otherwise the amount of funny scenes to unfunny scenes were too low for me to ever want to watch this show. Only ended up somehow finishing because I don't like posting opinions of things that I didn't finish, and it's kinda a staple on /a/.

I loved Nichijou though. Whenever the scenes weren't that funny, it was still enjoyable and cute to watch. Animation made it pleasing to the eye too, and soundtrack is God-tier.

Well the bar for comedy anime isn't exactly what you'd describe as set high, so there's that.

I agree that Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (hereby DKN) is one of the best anime comedies ever made, but I want to make a few points.

First of all, DKN is not a slice-of-life anime. If you cannot understand this, I don't think you really know what a slice-of-life anime is.

Secondly, being among the greatest anime comedies is piss-easy, because there are almost no comedy anime. Sure, if you count everything that's got marked as comedy by anidb, there's hundreds and thousands of comedy shows, but this is misleading, as all shows that contain even a slight attempt at one joke or have any characters smiling over something trivial for 2 seconds in one of 263 episodes will be labeled as a comedy. I think finding anime on anidb that aren't labelled as comedies is difficult (as in, there aren't that many of them, of course I can provide examples of shows that aren't labelled as such).

If you were to count all the "pure" anime comedies of all time, I doubt you'd even reach 50 shows.

That being said, DKN was funny and I enjoyed it a lot.
