>implying this isn't the greatest comedy of the past 5 and possibly 10 years
It was a 7/10/ Got worse as it went on, hit or miss, even the literary girl scenes weren't very good after the first one. Still really funny overall but not as good as people make it out to be.
>tried too hard
What does that even mean? How does an anime try too hard? Is it just that you made up your mind about it midway through and didn't like it trying to change your opinion?
I'm not that much into SoL but I wouldn't say that I dislike it.
It started to get a bit too repetitive, literary girl scenes was the worst offender and why would I make up my mind about something before it has finished? Sounds stupid as fuck, the show just got worse with each episode anyway.
I loved it, the buildup to the jokes, the character, the writing, the general setting of slice of life with a twist. It was one of the most enjoyable anime rides I had with high rewatachability. Every episode just felt different and had their own recognizable charms.
But Literary girl was my favourite.
It just got better and better as it progressed, I was always interested in how the relationship between the two would evolve and wasn't disappointed. Its true they usually met at the river bank but every single senario was different, it was dorky and embarrassing at first but as the episodes progressed some romance actually bloomed from that, the literary girl ended up having a defined character by the end of it and made the experience enjoyable.
This is new /a/, Naruto discussion is norm now.
Ive never laughed this much watching anime before.
Nichibros has always been overrated and circlejerked by an incredibly vocal fanbase, It is a good, funny show, but it isn't the funniest anime of all time, or the only good anime comedy like it is normally praised as in the threads.
Its the funniest show ive seen but i'm not denying there are shows similar to it, /a/ has always accepted Nichibros as one of the more funnier shows along with Cromatarie, I doubt that will ever change.
Forced animation and "lol random" humour, I just couldn't get into it. After 5 episodes I just naturally expected some weird shit to happen and that would be the punchline, joke over.
>post about something anon dislikes
>hurrr fujo XDD
>post has nothing related to fujo
Stop, just fucking stop. You either google the definition of a word you don't know or don't use it at all to not look stupid. Holy shit, retards everywhere
tl;dr fuck off and take your fucking buzzwords with you
Too bad it's not even close to the funniest
I've never watched an anime that had such good jokes. I was laughing pretty hard, but was even more impressed on how original they were.
SYD, while also being hilarious, relied on average dirty jokes.
They have to put too much animation in it to cover up for unfunny shit
But I come from /a/.
Even though I usually prefer animation over content, it doesn't work right in SoL.
Honestly, did you think anything in that show was funny?
Because if you were, you need to re-evaluate your sense of humor.
Nichijou had mediocre comedy with great animation, it nearly destroyed its studio and forced them into banrkrupsy for animating every single particle on screen for a pretty mediocre joke, it was just depressing at that point, I rarely laughed but felt somewhat amused during the watching of Nichijou. But yeah, go ahead and tell me to fuck off because you own /a/ and clearly your opinion is superior to mine.
>Honestly, did you think anything in that show was funny?
The only episode of Nichibros that was really funny was episode 6.
Otherwise the amount of funny scenes to unfunny scenes were too low for me to ever want to watch this show. Only ended up somehow finishing because I don't like posting opinions of things that I didn't finish, and it's kinda a staple on /a/.
I loved Nichijou though. Whenever the scenes weren't that funny, it was still enjoyable and cute to watch. Animation made it pleasing to the eye too, and soundtrack is God-tier.
Three years is definitely enough to get into board culture.
I've only been watching anime for a year now (I used to marathon one/two anime per day, so I've seen about 150 easily) and browsing /a/ for 6 months or so. Even I understand /a/'s board culture.
I remember it used to be the other way around, trying to assert the supremacy that is NIchibro
But then, what do I know. I have shit taste.
/a/ generally liked Nichibros from the start but had mixed feelings towards Nichijou, especially towards the end. But who gives a fuck, can you stop acting like a prick and derailing the tread with your shit comments.
I agree that Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (hereby DKN) is one of the best anime comedies ever made, but I want to make a few points.
First of all, DKN is not a slice-of-life anime. If you cannot understand this, I don't think you really know what a slice-of-life anime is.
Secondly, being among the greatest anime comedies is piss-easy, because there are almost no comedy anime. Sure, if you count everything that's got marked as comedy by anidb, there's hundreds and thousands of comedy shows, but this is misleading, as all shows that contain even a slight attempt at one joke or have any characters smiling over something trivial for 2 seconds in one of 263 episodes will be labeled as a comedy. I think finding anime on anidb that aren't labelled as comedies is difficult (as in, there aren't that many of them, of course I can provide examples of shows that aren't labelled as such).
If you were to count all the "pure" anime comedies of all time, I doubt you'd even reach 50 shows.
That being said, DKN was funny and I enjoyed it a lot.
if all the characters were all girls and it had yuri it would have been the greatest show ever
Well, fuck, I guess I was busy, if I wasn't here at that time
There was this time when I just thought /a/ is shit and haven't gone there for some weeks. Probably then I missed it. Sorry for blogshit
No, sabagebu was
_good, but fuck off
You too, Lelouch
