Tamako love story deserves it, Giovanni's Island was ok.

I didn't hear good things about the Tamako Market series, so I didn't bother to watch it. But apparently the move is really good. Can I just watch the movie without watching the series first?

Regardless of how it turned out, I seriously doubt they'd award another prize to the sequel after the original won the grand prize, that'd be too much.

Evangelion TV won an Excellence Prize when they established the damn thing in 1997, but End of Evangelion didn't get anything. Of course, 3.33 got another Excellence Prize, but that was sixteen years later.
