I didn't hear good things about the Tamako Market series, so I didn't bother to watch it. But apparently the move is really good. Can I just watch the movie without watching the series first?
They just copypasted the Reason for Award from last year's winner. Does nobody check the English version of the site?
Must be a nice birthday present for her to be recognized. She is arguably now the best director kyoani has given the weakness of amagi from takemoto but then it is shitty source material.
At least this shows that they're not biased with their country's work.
They're really a honorable bunch. I don't see how this is anything wrong or worth mocking Japan.
>That we're so stuck and preoccupied with what's good for our childen and moral values and blah blah blah
This is exactly the problem with america and why they are never going to make cartoons as good as japan.
And with good I mean fun.
>Madoka Magica wins the Grand Prize in 2011
>Rebellion Story wins nothing in 2014
As someone who loved the original series and believed Rebellion Story was an utter disgrace to the franchise, I am very happy.
confirmed better than tamako
>Kill la Kill
That award has to mean something.
Kill la Kill has won a bunch of awards, nothing new.
Regardless of how it turned out, I seriously doubt they'd award another prize to the sequel after the original won the grand prize, that'd be too much.
Evangelion TV won an Excellence Prize when they established the damn thing in 1997, but End of Evangelion didn't get anything. Of course, 3.33 got another Excellence Prize, but that was sixteen years later.
