If Seo had more screen time I'd know for sure. It's a tough to gauge whether she'd get annoying or not if she was around all the time; if she turned out to be grating after a while then Chiyo would be better.

It's quite common for the bestgirls to be delivered in small doses, and you like them quite possibly because you don't actually know them that well and build up an image in your head about them that may be unrealistic. It's actually kind of rare for the main girl to be super-likeable despite being the most fleshed-out, often that exposes some flaw/side of her that puts people off. So Chiyo is not to be fucking underestimated, because it is very easy for the main girl to be disliked because we have more angles to analyze her from.

She sounds so.. authentic, it's hard to peg it. She sounds a little husky/raspy for someone who is practically two inches tall, but not unnaturally so (like the cliche deep-voiced loli), but she also doesn't sound like she's trying too hard to sound like a midget. Hence authentic.

I guess the authenticity also comes from her being new. A nice new voice easily attracts positive attention because you're still a little bit surprised every time she opens her mouth and it's not a tone that you can instantly peg in your mind. Like when Seo spoke it was kind of disappointing because I just think "oh, husky Sawashiro. That's nice, I guess." It's not unpleasant to hear, but it's not really thrilling either. Chiyo's voice in of itself brings a kind of intangible freshness to the show because no one could have 100% pegged that that's what she'd sound like beforehand.

And Rie Kugimiya, and now fast-approaching Nao Toyama and Ayane Sakura as well because they're in high demand.

We just plain get tired of hearing the same voices over and over no matter how good they are. Nao is incredibly fucking talented and yet I bet within a few years we'll be all "oh boy, yet ANOTHER bubbly/cute Nao Toyama char, make it stop".

There'll always be freshness though shaking things up, it's just the cycle of things.

Nozaki sold absolutely enough to guarantee a second season pending enough material. Seeing that Dogakobo went ahead for YuruYuri with 10k, we know they'll bite if it's over that mark, and Nozaki sold almost 15k. The problem is "is there enough source material".

So we might have to wait a 1-2+ years for more material before they even start to weigh the feasibility of it, and by then, they will be carefully weighing whether it's still got enough interest to sell like that anymore.

D-Frag's adaptation was kind of shit.

Binbougami Ga's adaptation was pretty good, but the manga didn't pander to yuri hard enough.

I'll be surprised if Nozaki doesn't get a second season, honestly. I'm a tad disappointed that the beach episodes were being done in the OVAs, but then again you want your OVAs to be strong.
