Personally I liked Sekai Seifuku, WUG & Shirobako. ZnT/Wixoss had some potential but in the end didn't deliver. Waiting for S2 to give judgement on Aldnoah Zero but it's not looking good so far.

Glasslip alone made this a legendary year for anime.

Reading that list, it's funny how PA made the best (Shirobako) and one of the worst (Glasslip, tied with Wizard Barristers and Buddy Complex as the worst).

The rest of the originals were/are mostly mediocre stuff (though, I'm not watching Argevollen). I'm mostly disappointed with Zvezda and ZnT for the wasted potential after having a great start.

ZnT was such a letdown.

Buddy Complex was the most inoffensive anime this year.

Space Dandy - Nice try, but no Cowboy Bebop or Samurai Champloo

Wizard Barristers - Several ordinary concepts mashed together to make something surprisingly with potential that was completely destroyed by poor plot pacing, stupid "rules" for witches versus humans that were reversed based on the circumstances making the judgements even more ridiculous, and characters that I wound up not giving a shit about because no one bothered exploring them.

Wixoss - What was expected to be a run of the mill anime based off of a real life card game with with some "dark mahou shoujo" undertones thanks to Madoka Magica and Gen'ei Taiyou actually wound up becoming one of the two surprises of the season in my opinion. It did just about everything Madoka Magica should have included aside from pretty pictures, Yuki Kajiura music, and literary references peppered throughout to make viewers think they are watching something intelligent, and what Gen'ei Taiyou tried to do but failed.

Aregevollen - Despite containing elements far too similar to Evangelion, and visually generic looks and storyline-wise it actually wound up being a breath of fresh air. Instead of bitchy tsunderes, stoic kuuderes, and other stereotypical anime character behaviors we have a group of characters that we slowly learn and care about and everyone behaves closer to an actual human being than a caricature.

Cross Ange - Like Ange herself, it is a lovely train wreck that I enjoy hating on every week. Sunrise is shit.

Nothing really stands out though. ZnT had a chance but disappointed me halfway through.

From the character design to the plot summary (loli takes over the world) everything screamed tongue-in-cheek wacky show and Sekai Seifuku ended up being exactly that. The ones that say "wasted potential" expected some serious Lelouch-shenanigans show where the loli tactically takes over the world starting with Japan to other continents, or some such.

Pretty sure -Re/verse- is not set in a different universe. The difference with WIXOSS is that the anime launched at the same time as the game, and the manga spinoffs followed.

Even if the PVs are set in a different universe, they still utilize the same established character designs with some minor differences in personality and occupation/standings in the school structure.

Out of the original TV series this year, Space Dandy is easily the one I liked the most. Well, there's G-reco, but that's still airing and will go into 2015 so I guess it doesn't count.
