Bloatgirls just released the last volume of shit version of Monogatari.
Join us in making fun of them and the fact that Kristen is a boy who pretends to be a girl on the internet.
>Bloatgirls just released the last volume of shit version
Subtle OP. Very subtle. How's the download going?
So kristen is still 100% retarded when it comes to packaging the commentary.
I don't see why anyone downloads their shit, especially for monogatari which they so very much fuck over any time they try.
>herkz and Kristen having a shitflinging, e-peen bitchfest
Nyaa is such shit.
Their CCS release isn't actually very good. There's at least one totally garbage TL note in it (something like "There's a joke here but I don't know what it is") and they didn't filter to fix the problems the BD had.
Stop with this slander immediately!
I'm not a boy, I'm a real, honest-to-god, girl!
I thought this was a board for little girls, but it's full of icky boys!
How could you lie to me, [a/?
>cartel has chosen to pick on
There is no cartel kids, there are people who have standards and are trying to stop people who don't know any better from downloading shit like Coalgirls and Chihiro.
Because they might be the only option due to seeders, other groups like Commie being the only other option. I have their Hyouka release because I prefer 1080p for BD. Some of their stuff is good and not everything they release is shit. Although I guess most of it is.
It ain't like that, to get trusted you have to:
- Encode in 10bit.
- Have, at least, 20 releases.
- And I guess at least a 75% of TL accuracy.
Then, if some mod notices you you get trusted or you can just ask for it and you'll get reviewed. Coalgirls reaches those minimum requirements.
Yeah, the bar is pretty low.
Underwater are pretty rubbish with their overly localised scripts, but Commie releases are generally high quality, if sometimes stupidly slow, like is the case with Dandy and JoJo, or most recently loli mountains.
>those two are one of the few decent groups around.
Sorry, I didn't recognize you without your trip, Daiz. How's Nozaki-kun and Barakamon going?
>Encode in 10bit.
no you don't
>Have, at least, 20 releases
You got one right
>And I guess at least a 75% of TL accuracy.
HAHAHAHAHAHA, 75%? What the fuck is this shit a original TL by DDY or Anime-koi?
You better have at least 95% TL accuracy if you want trusted kid.
It was a joke you dense piece of shit, and they're only trusted because of their CR edits.
And DDY lost tusted on that first episode of Hana and that shit wasn't even close to 25% inaccurate.
This shit happens pretty frequently in his releases but hey, even FFF forgets fonts so I guess it's okay to be shit.
His encodes are also much worse than even Coalgirls. He uses fucking medium x264 settings. He's an idiot.
There's really not a very high bar for trusted. Which is why when a prolific group doesn't have it, they're more than likely complete garbage. And when trusted is revoked, they're definitely complete garbage, as was the case with DmonHiro before Nyaa gave it back out of sheer laziness.
>Exactly, I'd say it was about 50% inaccurate
It wasn't, it was mostly just that intro with from her mother.
>even admitted by their staff.
No, only person who admitted anything was fnord saying he watched the first 3 minutes of it and removed the trusted.
yeah that's missing fonts not timing.
CR edit. The only reason they have was because they had no competition for the first season and thanks to the stupid nyaa rule that means they have it for the second season.
>Benja admitted himself their v1 was horribl
>I think he even made a blogpost on their site about it.
Only blogpost I ever saw was them saying that apart from that huge TL at the beginning it the v2 was mostly the same thing as the v1
>knowing what they're doing
Kristen banned my proxy after I made a comment of him being a dude
Holy shit. Commie doesn't even spout meme all the time. You make it sound like every translation they put are all translated into memes.
Stop being so autistic about that. Fuck.
as far as I can tell, if people see [Commie] their brain instantly goes on the lookout for anything even similar to a meme that they complain about regardless of how good it is as a translation
If you don't like an actually accurate translation of the title, you can get the BDs for an actually accurate translation of the title.
The major issues were heavily downplayed in the DDY blog post you're talking about, which was honestly a pretty terrible move. Especially toward the TLC who went in and fixed up the script - and make no mistake, there was a ton of stuff to fix.
Same. Good PPD and Nise release never.
ANE did a mixed subtitle sources release for Bakemonogatari. It was obvious if you look at the screenflashes compared to the dialogue.
Both translations were fine, but it was in two very different styles.
Why even translate the name of the show like that to begin with?
Because they could translate as bait story
Do you really think commie would ever miss such an opportunity?
Some fansubbers do this for love Commie does it for the chance of pissing everybody off
ANE used to commit the same mistakes than Coalgirls but I think the main difference is that tp7 was one of the best goddamn encoders in the scene. Also, their re-typesetting choices were not as ugly as CGi.
Their translations are horrible. That is a fact.
But other than that, I don't really give a fuck who they are or what their gender is. I got better things to do than make fun of someone's gender.
I talk about translation specifics if I have specifics on some particular thing relating to it, usually gained through talking with people who do translate and know Japanese. Beyond that, I know a good bit about what goes to translation in general, which is applicable even without knowing that much Japanese.
>It's not just /a/ that hates that shit, if it was they wouldn't care enough to do it.
What other site do you think would hate it? All the other sites eat up memes.
Besides, /a/ has a huge community and the people who hate those memes are the loudest ones so it's always funny to see their reactions.
Yeah, no argument for the quality of the ANE encodes, just the script was a mixed bag solely due to the inconsistencies. The dialogue was also source from multiple spots cause gg didn't do all of it. I personally wasn't a fan of the font choice, but I wouldn't say it was a bad choice by any means.
Someone has actually gone and made the changes to the script and typesetting to fix the inconsistencies, but he hasn't gotten all of them.
It was really easy to get perfect frame times due to the constant screenflashes.
Not sure why everyone freaked out at my comment. I just hate doing this shit before every episode.
I got the Coalgirls' one as well.
i kind of like bakemonogatari, fuck watching the rest of that shit though
take a screenshot of 1080p, downscale to 720p and reupscale to 1080p, and compare the upscale and original 1080p.
Do it for a shot of the OP, ED and some of the episode. You can generally tell if something is upscaled or not through this method.
Some stuff is still mastered at 540p or some other ungodly resolution, like Space Dandy was pretty bad, and this season that Ushinawaramete is pretty bad.
Yeah. There were a few bits where it was different, like I think the handling of how Oshino refers to Hanekawa(Class Prez, Class Pres, Class Rep, whatever) was different in those 3 episodes.
>you won't get trusted if your releases are hardsubbed 8bit.
Literally the only hardsubbed 8bit releases on nyaa in english are re-encodes (no point in trusted) and one garbage Tumblr encode I know of
Softsubbed 8bit is fine and a lot of trusted users exclusively release with that.
DmonHiro's Girls und Panzer release was garbage with blatant mistimings in the first minutes of the first episode. I deleted his release immediately, so go check yourself.
No, DmonHiro has trusted because he's slightly competent, encodes from BDs (not raws), and they trust him not to totally fuck up. He lost trusted for a while due to his Kyousougiga release, but got it back by fixing it.
Sushi crashes or totally fucks up on ~25% of what I encode. I had it set a bunch of lines to start two hours before the video recently, which is totally nonsensical.
--src-keyframes auto --dst-keyframes auto will prevent 95% of bleeds with sushi.
Nah, Daiz said Dmon only got trusted back because Nyaa was too lazy to make a separate userclass for non-trusted users to get around IP bans on uploading torrents. And Daiz is the one that got his trusted revoked in the first place.
Have you bothered tp7 about it?
How about this? The BD is an inherently bad upscale that no encoding can fix, right? So who has the best DVD release that's actually seeded?
Hell no, KAA's encode was terrible in pretty much every way imaginable including wrong framerate. Cestfait seemed to be the best DVD release when I took a look at them.
You should also note that while the BDs are bad it's not like the DVDs look great either. Just pick whichever you think looks less bad.
Even if FLAC is a stupid, bloated audio format to use for BD releases of television shows. 30 gigs for a two episodes of a TV release isn't horrendously bad. Hell, the Zurako encodes of Horizon S1 and S2 are almost 40 gigs.
I'll just sit here and wait for UTW to be done with Nisemonogatari and then work on Second Season too.
If you're archiving you would be a fool to take anything but lossless audio (for which FLAC is arguably the best choice)
If you don't get lossless audio then you'll never be able to transcode it without losing quality, meaning in the future if archaic lossy format x is not supported it will be far more annoying than an extra few dollars worth of storage space.
>And while it's perfectly possible that Kristen fucked up the colors I wouldn't say that without seeing the original BDs.
I tried to word it as to not blame them since it could be from the BDs, but from that comparison their colors are definitely fucked.
So, many anon's are wondering what [commie] releases are good, and what are "avoid at all costs" releases.
Step 1, go here:
Step 2, apply the basic consistent formula:
2a: If the Typesetter is Herkz, it is guaranteed to be shit. Avoid at all costs.
2b: If the Editor is either Xythar or Herkz, expect lame jokes that only retarded children would laugh at. Avoid at all costs.
2c: If the Editor is Sereft, expect the show to be randomly and permanently stalled at some point during the season. Avoid at all costs.
2d: If the "has aired" is over a week old, don't expect Commie to ever catch up. Switch to another groups release.
So as you can see, if you are careful, there are decent [Commie] releases waiting for you. You just have to know which ones to avoid.
