An anime about a typical 14 year old Japanese girl.
One day she becomes a magical girl, holy shit!
Nah, just kidding. She's actually delusional, believing to have been chosen by aliens to be a hero of justice. Personality is like a combination of the Twelfth from Mirai Nikki + Tsugiha Yojirou of Medaka Box
Fights using common items and claiming it's magic. For example, throwing dirt into an enemies eyes would be blinding magic, using an aerosol can with a lighter would be immolation magic.
At the same time there's a police detective searching for a vigilante whose extremely violent crimes have triggered a nation-wide media frenzy.
Near the end it's revealed her insanity wasn't caused by a generic rape backstory, but something actually tragic.
Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
Twist ending: They never meet. Their love ultimately ends up the ultimate long-distance relationship. They die alone.
>MC is an aspiring serial killer >He stalks his first victim >After months of stalking, it's finally the day >He sees the girl getting attacked by a bunch of thugs >They're trying to kill her >He impulsively saves her since she is supposed to be his first victim >Turns out the girl is wanted by a mysterious organization who's hunting her down because her father(a scientist) fucked up >MC gets hired as her bodyguard whilst trying to fight his murderous lust`
The ending involves him having to kill the girl yet facing the moral dilemma of being good or being evil and the girl knowing he's a psycho at heart and sacrificing herself for him due to Stockholm Syndrome.
Traumatized by what he's done, he ends up continuing to kill murderers and white-knight victims while viewing every girl he rescues as the girl he stalked, rescued, and eventually murdered once upon a time.
>Pure Wizard Warrior. An anon is ousted as a virgin by a co-worker at work one day, close to his 30th birthday. One night while mulling over his situation in a depressed state and wondering whether it's worth returning to work the next day suddenly an earthquake happens, followed by more quieter rumbling tremors. What follows next comes as a shock as a ball of light crashes through the MC's room. The ball turns out to be a fairy from another dimension who asks the MC to immediately form a contract with as there is going to be major peril soon. The contract has rules however: if the recipient so much as receives a kiss from a woman then the powers dissolve completely from the user and the contract along with the faery die. Feeling sorry for what he did toward the MC, the co-worker who ousted him to his colleagues decides to make it up to him and get him laid much to our protagonists protests.
>Contrast. A 4 koma style comedy about an innocent looking boy who is lewd as fuck and a delinquent looking girl who actually has a heart of gold.
I think the time has finally come for golf to participate in the magical world of sports manga.
It will of course be like all sports manga, with hulking behemoths with blatantly supernatural abilities. There will be city courses that go through people's houses. There will be fistfights with other golfers in active volcanoes. People will level forests and buildings with their supersonic golf swings.
At the end, aliens will invade and challenge the Earth's mightiest golfers for the fate of the world into an impossible golf challenge. In the final chapter, the protagonist receives a psychic message from beyond the grave from his father, the golf legend, and finally becomes one with golf and activates the fabled Multiball ability to make three hole-in-ones with one ball.
An entire alien planet dies and as the final alien lets loose its last breath, the collective spirits of the aliens merge together and transport to earth. The MC wakes up one day with the collective conciousness of a billion aliens. He goes through highschool trying to act as normal as possible but everyone thinks that he's just being a chuuni cause he acts so weird. The dominant personas inside his mind start to take over and they come together to end the threat to earth that ended their own planet. The first 10 episodes are slice of life shit and the last 15 are over the top action as he tries to use his aliens personas to stop the destruction of own species.
A lost girl meets a man digging a cave into hole into Mt. Fuji in preparation for the apocalypse. She decides to stay and help him but he warns her of the ghosts of the forest around the mountain. As time passes, she realizes the mental toll that both the cave and forest are taking on him. She usually finds him skulking around the forest at night and writing random things on the walls of the cave while digging. As she starts to try and figure out what he is doing, he starts to believe that she is trying to sabotage his shelter. He spends the the final episodes trying to kill her, which leads to him destroying his cave and leaving him to rebuild it after she escapes.
The twist is that the apocalypse has already happened and the ghosts of the forest are other survivors.
Story starts out like a complete Shonen/Slice of Life Ripoff in a School Setting.
A bullied MC tries to become strong both physically and mentally to become someone everyone respects. Along the years to his quest he meets friends and rivals along the way, eventually culminating into becoming the Student Council President and Honor Student.
The Twist is: No one ever liked him and got his life ruined by sabotage of reputation and of grades. The story ends with everyone moving on with their lives.
I'm by no means done! Now it's time to brainstorm characters.
For the sake of world-building, there should definitely be some kind of super awesome historical figure who lived long ago and shook the world with his golfing prowess. I don't have a character design nailed down, but I've got a name: Gol F. Tiger.
There should also be a present day character who never ends up fighting directly because he's a virtuous hermit who merely functions as a mentor and guide to young aspiring golfers. He wears red so he'll always remember the terrible price of using his golf techniques from his wild violent youth, and he has a big white beard because he's very old. His name is Jack Nicklaus, although everyone calls him "the Golf Saint".

Takashi is an animator who works at Eito Productions, one of the largest anime studios in the world.
However, he has gotten into a slump. While he entered Eito intending to work on amazing animation projects, he's stuck animating a few long-running series that exchange quality for quantity.
He goes to a bar that other Eito Productions employees frequent, and finds three other people who share his opinion: >Aiko, a voice actress who despises the fact that the only characters she voices are either poorly-written love interests or characters in ecchi programs. >Kuro, a financial supervisor for Eito, who dislikes the fact that they are only selling $60 BDs to one incredibly specific audience of otakus when they could attract a wider fanbase >Haruka, a small-time manga writer who had her first series animated by Eito. However, the changes they made to her story and the already shitty animation caused the series to bomb on arrival.
Takashi suddenly gets an idea - what if the four of them break off and make their own anime studio? But all of them have loyalty contracts to Eito, so the only way for them to do so would be if, say, the entire studio became bankrupt.
And so, these four heroes make it their mission to not only plan the creation of their own studio, but subtly sabotage Eito's anime in any way possible.

After a few episodes developing the plot and characters people who use similar methods as the MC did appear due to the alternated timeline and he tries to deal with them destroying the present.
Magical girl anime. The girl goes on all these fun adventures with a different friend magical girl every episode. Super cute, then you find out the MC's big ability is that she never ages, so she goes on all these adventures with people as time goes by, and slowly watches them die. It's not revealed until the last few episodes, when she goes insane and starts digging up their graves to try to reunite with all her friends.

In a far away place, of an isolated castle lives a large royal family, however the current patriarch is growing old, decrepit and ever paranoid. During his youth, the king was told that one of his offspring would murder him in cold blood when his hairs are gray. That time is now and he must work out which of his children want him killed for the throne.
Takes place in a world where a war is taking place between mankind and demons, but the demons victory is near secured, forcing the remaining survivors to search for the rumored land that is protected by angels. The protagonist is an orphaned child who witnessed his parents get murdered by demons, and his childhood friend get taken away. From this harsh childhood he grows up with enough strength to fight some demons on his own. Common route features him and his journey to the safe land and his encounters with various females that have routes, but also his encounters with the high ranked subjects of the demon lord. In these encounters the protagonist's group is saved by what looks like the childhood friend who was taken away. The routes are average and just end with reaching the safe haven with your preferred girl as you're waifu.
After clearing all the routes of the girls that are first presented, you unlock a route where you are given the power to defeat the larger demons without the help of the 'outside force'. In doing so, the war takes a turn, favoring humans, and you are at the center of it. Instead of searching for the safe land, the route directs you to the demon lord's castle, where you find out that the previous demon lord died, leaving the childhood friend to take over and be the current demon lord. With this you also discover that she and the previous demon lord were doing this because human sacrifices were required to preserve the human world's existence; at the end of this route the human world ceases to exist, and the protagonist has a happy(?) ending with the new demon lord in the underworld.
MC is an aspiring bounty hunter girl. She's small but feisty- even a little eccentric. She sails in her talking boat, "Jeremy", short for Jeremiah. She has a key necklace. In the beginning she is hanging out in a boat, fishing for a shark or something. She gets a bounty update on a pirate magician and heads over to the island where he is seen. She heads over to the pub where the magician is drinking. When she shows up, people at the pub start talking about how she's unbeatable even though she's so young and relatively new to the bounty hunter society. However, the magician is a big guy. They get in a fight. Even though it's a medieval setting, the magician takes out his modern handgun. The crowd gets amazed by his "dark magic", which is just him shooting his gun. The pirate girl is severely wounded. She curses to herself, takes out the key from her bosom and pushes it deep in her head before turning it a few times. As she turns the key time reverses. Her wound is now gone, and since she now knows what will happen, she dodges the bullets and stabs the magician. People praise her strength and say that she will never be beaten. MC takes the gun and leaves- concerned about her overuse of the key. Jeremy says that, according to quantum mechanics, by relocating time and place, world can become really funky or even end at any moment. MC tells him to shut up his smart ass mouth and keeps sailing.
my vn idea it's pretty late and i can't even tell if it's good or not
>>116845937 MC was a member of the armed forces, injured in a conflict that left him blind and deaf on the left side of face. Show is about his struggles to re adjust to civilian life and PTSD following the discharge. MC is constantly haunted by memories of the war, watching members of his regiment dying in front of his eyes, having been put through an array of experiences, torture and mock executions at the hands of his enemies when he was captured. MC entered the war with four of his closest mates to escape from the streets and prison following a botched robbery that left several innocents killed over a petty amount of cash. MC's trails throughout the war left him scarred and broken, leaving him unable to sleep at night because of the traumatic experiences that haunt him, the screams, the gunfire and shelling plaguing him at his most vulnerable of moments. Fast forward to his life in the city he works as a postal worker, sorting the massive amounts of unchecked letters and forwarding them. MCs life hits a turning point in where he meets up with his best friend and brother in arms while delivering an unchecked letter, the brother who he thought had died all those years ago. Turns out he did survive and has been living as a shut in hikkimori living off a government payout.
>>116851472 Time passes by as he the two catch up and find out that many members of the regiment did actually survive and have been living in the same city as him for as long as he has. Fast forward to the anniversary of the botched robbery and MC has gathered members of his former gang alongside a few of the surviving members of the regiment for a toast of celebration. Surrounded by his brothers in arms, their wives and children alongside his pregnant wife and young child, MC smiles and looks towards the viewer in saying "For the longest time my world felt like a dream, a never ending slumber that I longed to wake from. I am here now and I realize that my life has now reached its pinnacle and for that I am truly grateful" "And now to us, to our fallen brothers and to us may this days get ever brighter from here on out." As they all raise their glasses into the air and take a swig MC pulls in close his family with a snapshot being taken at this moment, his youngest son looking up at his father, his wife laying a sweet kiss on his check and his brothers in the background with handles held.
The series nears the end when his wife whispers into his ear “Wake up”. MC awakes to find himself in a straight jacked and locked in away in a padded cell in an asylum for the criminally insane. Turns out that everything was a lie, he never went to war, he never rolled in a gang with his closest friends and he never worked in a postal office or had a wife and child. The only thing that did remain true was the botched robbery which turned out to be a murder of an innocent family of four. The crime he committed was that of torture of the father, rape of the mother and children before consuming them in a cannibalistic fit of passion. He was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and dissociative personality disorder with delusions of grandeur. The series truly ends with MC looking into eyes of viewer, before shutting his eyes his rocking himself back to sleep.
Forgot to include. After tampering with space and time so much our MC decides that he'll kill his past self and see what type of effect it would have on his present self. The results of course are disastrous and seeks out the only one who can help him. An old quantum physics professor who is now homeless.
How about a bishie MC that is really the OC of some fujoshit, and she is constantly trying to write him into horrific scenarios that he has to deal with/get out of. He'll break the fourth wall and have conversations with her and such, and mainly be a gag reel.
She keeps trying to come up with different love interests for him, and he doesn't want any, wanting to live the life of a free-spirited manga bachelor that can't be fucked to be tied down to one woman.
I don't know how it'd pan out, but it'd be fun if the fujoshit and the MC wound up together or something, somehow. Either she draws him into the story or some weird Take On Me shit goes down.
>>116847156 Oh please. If you want a decent English web novel/fictionpress work with a healthy dose of wish-fulfillment (starts slow until the time looping though, but I can see it being a decent young adult novel once the rough parts are edited), just short of moving on to real books, then this is a must-read.
I think Mother of Learning is the only good one (good enough that someone put it in Baka-Tsuki even if it's an english novel by a Croatian author) since you can probably imagine that 99% of the shit there will be shit worse than LNs (if only because we're not as repulsed by Japan's cringey shit in most LNs, i.e. Arifureta is absolutely disgusting shit but it's still guilty-enjoyable to read until after the first dungeon).
>>116845937 MC visits a park every Sunday to look at the stars. He does this every Sunday for a period of 9 months until he stumbles across a girl sitting on his bench looking up at the stars. MC goes up and talks to her and asks her why she is sitting in his seat, she says that coming from the country she enjoys looking at the stars because they remind her of home in the country side. Interactions start off stiff at first but they eventually warm to each other and begin enjoying each others company during these times. With both looking forward to seeing each other each Sunday, almost like a date. MC arrives one night to find that she has not been shown up for the past few meetings. It does not worry him at first but he eventually grows concerned that something bad has happened to her. So he reports a missing persons report into the police and hands a picture into the police. The police say they can't help him because that person does not exist in the database but they have been receiving some concerning reports of a man wandering around in the parks talking to himself. MC gives up and returns to the park bench and waits for her to show up.
Turns out that MC had been suffering from severe depression and anxiety following the death of his wife and what he was seeing was a manifestation of her. His unwillingness to let her go and accept her death led his mind to continue regressing back to the days of when he first meet her in that park all those nights ago.
Unable to confess, they graduate and never see each other again until they're already working.
One day, at a reunion, he sees this shota little kid wave at him. He reminds him of his crush he never confesses to and they hang out without him asking his name, thinking he's the little brother (or worse, son) of his old crush.
He meets the guy's girlfriend, they hang out, have drinks, do Karaoke, and when all is said and done, when they're alone, the guy reveals himself to be the butch version of his flat-chested crush who discovered she was a lesbian.
It opens up with someone telling the story of king arthur.
The legend of the sword in the stone is a famous one. He who can pull the sword form the stone is the one to become king. The ones who are truly capable of pulling swords from stones are weapon smiths who extract metal from ore. The sword in the stone is a metaphor for kingdoms who had early access to steel technology. Superior weapons allowed them to dominate and expand their reign.
The actual story is set in a slightly futuristic society called Camelot. The main protagonists are a team composed of maybe an engineer, a historian, and an archaeologist. They seek to rebel against the current oppressive government in a journey to discover a new "sword in the stone".
>you will never fund an anime >you will never be a mangaka because you're shit at drawing >you will never write a LN because anything you write is automatically not a LN because you're a filthy gaijin >you will never make a VN because you don't have the patience + are shit at drawing + don't know how to code
The main character is a high school boy with the ability to read minds. He's had the ability since birth and has never revealed it to anyone. It's completely automatic...if he's near someone he automatically knows everything that they are thinking.
Because of this, he comes off as a seemingly perfect person. He knows the answers to anything someone asks of him. Perfect grades and he's the most popular guy in school simply because he always knows what to say.
However, he's become depressed. He begins to resent the rest of the world because of his ability. He knows every sick, horrible thought that enters anyone else's mind. Because he knows exactly how someone will react to anything he says, human interaction feels empty. He lacks the courage to be honest with most people because he automatically latches on to what he knows they want him to do.
Eventually, however, he meets a girl. The girl is insane. She suffers from every mental condition imaginable. She's a bipolar, schizophrenic, obsessive-compulsive, paranoid-delusional nutcase. However, because of the bizarre way her brain works, he finds that he's completely unable to decipher her thoughts.
He is faced with the first person he actually feels that he can honestly interact with and eventually falls in love.
The theme of the anime will revolve around the importance of trust in relationships and being able to appreciate the difficulties that come with it.
>>116854107 One thing I love about these threads is giving me the ability to pen down stories. If there is one thing I still find a sense of enjoyment out of his creating stories, especially ones that touch on a multitude of feelings.
Romance Comedy with some philosophical debate on nature versus nurture. Two pairs of identical twins, one male and one female, are separated from their twins at birth. One of the boys and one of the girls grow up knowning each other in Kyoto, the other pair grow up knowing each other in Osaka. They all end up in University in Tokyo. By then they are all in this state of being really good childhood friends and they might have romantic feelings for each other. While in University they end up all meeting each other in separate events. Bulk of the book then takes place through the 4 years of them attending University together. Getting to know their twin and the other twin. They have crisis about which twin they love. If the other twin is really the same person as the one they grew up with. Wondering about what happened to their twin that makes them different.
>>116845937 MC is a delinquent of a motorcycle youth gang. Spends his days with his crew modifying their bikes, getting into fights, marking turf with tags and running from the cops on their high speed cycles. MC and the crew have a run in with a rival gang and decide to raid their turf and start some shit. En route to their destination they encounter a sting operation with the local police force to counter the rising rate of troublesome youths on the road. MC and his crew test their skills on the asphalt and race ahead of the force, easily leaving them in the dust. Taunting them them with heads turned before realizing they are own the path of an oncoming truck, MC is thrown from his bike and lands in a ditch supposedly unharmed but knocked out cold while his crew is either been killed in the impact or from being thrown many meters from their rides. MC wakes up bloodied and bruised to find whats left of his mates, paving the road with their blood, internals, limbs and trashed motorcycles. MC drops to his knees on the ground sobbing before he is blinded by high beam headlights from a truck.
Turns out that what MC had seen was not real as he has been in a coma for the past 5 years and the lights that blinded him were the lights on the ceiling. MC lies bedridden in a full body cast with his legs being amputated from the thigh down and the loss of his arms from the elbows down. MC stares at the viewer and lets out a muffled scream as he realized how he destroyed his life in an instant over such a silly mistake on the road.
It was once tradition for people to create sky lanterns, sending their prayers along up towards the heavens and hoping their messages would be answered. An app available for augmented reality devices renovates this ancient tradition: personal handwritten requests are now contained in virtual sky lanterns, publicly released into the night sky.
People carrying AR devices, such as contact lenses, smartphones or glasses, can see these messages under the viewing options. The plot follows two individuals encountering each other in a city, competing to answer these sky lanterns.
One of the individuals is a young woman volunteering for the recognition. She desires to improve her karma profile, a popular online trend designed to record altruistic actions. The second character is a heartbroken young man answering the sky lanterns to cope with separation.
Discovering these motives fosters concern. The young woman sees the young man answering the sky lanterns as an excuse to neglect the losses he suffered. The young man sees the young woman as a lonely person using the sky lanterns in hopes of find meaning in her vacant life.
As the two characters work together for certain requests, they begin to understand each other, eventually leading them to answer one another’s sky lantern request: helping the young man accept separation and finding a purpose in life for the young woman.
A documentary-style story set in the usual high school about real life application of anime/manga/LN cliches.
An example: Two guys would kidnap a girl, put her in a warehouse full of security cameras, rations, and other stuff, lure a guy inside the warehouse, lock them up, and see if they would fall for each other.

In this world, every 50 years an angry god escapes from his prison and attempts to destroy the world. But another less angry god makes it so that every 50 years out of 13 chosen people one gains the power to capture the angry god in his cage again and in doing so becomes the ruler of the world for the next 50 years before having to pass down their powers. Twist is that after the MC gains all the power in the world he uses it to break the angry gods cage, so that it can't be trapped again and then flies off in to the space to find a world to become a god for
It's an interesting notion, my plot. How about another one:
Young noble visits town. Caravan accident. Two guys (the same guys who did that experiment) check the prince out at his ward. He gains consciousness, but something weird: His brain wiring has been changed from male to female due to physical trauma. What happens after writes itself.
MC is a hobo living on the streets as the result of a gambling addiction that cost him his job, his wife and his kids. Sifting through the garbage looking for something to eat when he stumbles upon a tightly wrapped blanket. Turns out the bundle was a baby girl most likely one that was unwanted, MC not knowing of what to do with the child but unwilling to leave it alone takes it back to the shelter. Fellow hobos of the shelter see MC with a child and say to him that he was better to have left it in the garbage, MC unwilling to listen to them instead asks if they have any milk for the child. Shelter workers tell him that the shelter does not provide such luxuries, MC speaks up and says he is willing to give up his weeks worth of meals there so long as the child gets something. Shelter workers and fellow hobos moved by his compassion for child not of his own decide to pool whatever money they have into getting this child the things she requires. MC taken back from this amount of generosity uses the pooled money to get what she needs. Several weeks pass and MC is still caring for the child, with news of his deeds being heard from throughout the city. With donations coming in far and wide to help the shelter and the man that took in a abandoned child. Alongside this the mother of child hears of the good news that her child has been found and is well looked after demands that she have her back, MC unwilling to hand the child over to the legal guardian and mother resists and is to either charged with kidnapping or hand the child over. Abiding by the law he hands her back not without a heartfelt farewell. Ends with the mother and child being taken away, unsure of what will happen to her MC takes pride in the fact that he gave everything he had to help someone else in need, where as most of his life he cared for no one but himself. MC simply smiles and begins to walk back to the homeless shelter to start over again.
this neet off during college break, spends his time watching anime/manga and browsing the web, when, while on a board he sees this thread asking people to make up a plot for a type of series. After scratching his head for a while, and thinking about it he decides why the hell not? and writes something off the top of his head. Soon the thread is flooded with replies from other posters showing amusement and appreciation towards his idea, they encourage him to write more, and he goes along with it since he has nothing better to do. eventually he gains worldwide recognition for his talent, as he goes to receive an award (or something) he gets accused of murdering his childhood friend. He gets a call from somebody willing to help his case, he begins to have a positive outlook, at the day of his trial he awaits his friend, but no one appears for him, he tries to ask the judge to wait for his friend, the judge objects saying there is no guy that called him and accuses him of stalling, the MC pleads one last time, BUT THEN WHO WAS PHONE?
College student in Kyoto University undergoes an existential quarter-life crisis, and lives through various paths of idealized college lives as remediation for his perceived less-than-perfect lifestyle.
After reliving various aspects of his experiences in college in different forms, he becomes disillusioned with his struggle for an exemplary tangible happiness. He shuts himself out of the outside world in his room, becoming stagnant. Little does he know true happiness comes from within the psyche, and not through any preconceived notion of a rose-colored campus life. His pedantic pessimistic thinking led him to a life of unhappiness, while his previous incarnations were all 'rose-colored' in their own personalized idiosyncrasies. A depressed and overworked OL starts to have a recurring dream: in some indistinct and dimly-lit place, she meets a group of catwomen hanging out naked, smoking catnip, chatting, cuddling, and admiring and pleasuring each other.
The first night, they beg OL to strip and join them, promising to show her a good time. Though hesitant at first, she can't help appreciating their company. As the night goes on, she gradually becomes cat-OL, developing her own feline tics, eyes, fangs, ears, and tail; she is just beginning to notice these when she wakes up. While she wouldn't call that a nightmare, she's glad she doesn't have to go out in public like that.
Throughout the work day, OL notices a lady coworker whom she barely knows is looking at her regularly. Something about coworker interests OL too, but she can't put a finger on it. When they happen to leave work at the same time, they make some small talk and find themselves clicking already.
The second night, OL enters the dream room as cat-OL from the start, and one of the first to welcome her back is cat-coworker....

Last days of a generational starship expedition gone wrong.
Nobody knows what caused it, but the AI that was supposed to maintain the ship malfunctioned over the centuries of travel... life support is spotty in functionality, the ship is in disrepair, habitats have been torn up and scrapped for parts to maintain the still livable portions, food is fought over among survivors, entire generation blocks have been jettisoned from the main ship killing thousands and leading to strict eugenics practices to scrabble feebly toward a stable gene pool, and nobody even knows where the ship is going or when it was supposed to get there.
The story follows a young boy in love with a Black Caste girl (she has no proof of her parents, so she isn't allowed to conceive, to protect the eugenics programs, and is treated as an Untouchable) who flee their home Habitat Lock to be together as they explore the ship, find other pockets of survivors, flee bandits and cannibals and robotic servitors on the lookout for information about the location of the fabled First Bridge, which is said to hold the knowledge of their ancestors.

The story takes place in a universe in which people and its later revealed in the story that it also happens outside of Earth obtain a superpower that reflects the opposite of their innermost desire, and manifests itself at a certain age. A theory suggests it happens when that desire is the strongest.
The nature of these powers became a source of mass discomfort in people, and eventually some rogue superpowered start to show up. Organizations were created in order to help the superpowered humans and try to keep them in check. Some of these organizations have their own agendas, however, such as one of the two giants, S.S., is experimenting with altering and creating their own superpowers.
The main characters all meet together due to cirumstances related to either the rogue superpowered or the security organizations.

In a dark and gritty ten-minutes into the future setting, a strange phenomena has begun to turn people into powerful psychic entities with superhuman abilities. They're capable of telekinesis, super-strength, the generation and manipulation of energy, matter and other fantastic abilities, with only one caveat: They are completely useless so long as they live. The only way to unleash the power of these 'Martyrs' is to drive them to the point of death where their souls escape their body to activate their latent powers. The plot follows a journalist attempting to uncover the criminal underground where these supermen have become a rich commodity as bodyguards, assassins, soldiers and spies. She enlists the help of one such Martyr and they together dive deep into a conspiracy as deep as it is unbelievable.
In this world of dead heroes and living villains, nothing can be assumed, everything is connected. Innocence is an illusion, but as the lines begin to blur between conspirators and liberators, it begs the question of whether uncovering a real war is worth sacrificing a false peace.
Equal measures Darker than Black and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure with an angle deeply political, rather than philosophical; the plot would try to focus on a mature perspective on conflicting causes, not ideals; the ultimate theme being not what is good or what is justice, but what is best.
You and your buds read different characters' stories in one big story and y'alls decisions impact the other stories and you're trying to compete to get the best end and give the others the bad end. Obs you don't do it in real time.

Do we really have to go through all this again? Main Character: basically rip off shinji. Can't pull the trigger with any girl because he's got too many feels, and Japan. Main Girl: Blue haired stalker chick
Typical harem MC's are introduced in typical ways. He's chill walking to school, she's finishing breakfast on the run. Everything looks to be going normally, until the glasses wearing bro calls the MC on the phone, and without any precedence commands him to stop in his tracks. MC goes all serious-faced and does so. Just in time, too, as transfer student-chan whizzes by where he'd have been had he not listened.
MC simply sighs as Glasses-kun emerges from within the bush, remarking something along the lines of "The ride never ends, does it? You saved my ass back there"
It turns out the gang is already a year or two into this shit, and as a result, Glassesbro is leading a coalition of most of the male student body to bail their nigga out of harem bullshit and shenanigans, ranging from simple ploys like the one above, or getting fucking tacticool and operating operationally, depending on the haremette and her cognizance to the forces at work around her. Their reasons vary, some just wanting him to stop hogging all the girls, but a surprising amount just had witnessed all the stupid shit the poor guy had been subject to in the first year and decided to help him out because he's a genuinely good dude.
Transfer-Student-chan ends up sitting between MC-kun and Glasses-kun, and becomes privy to the goings on of the coalition. Shrewdly, she realizes that it'd be to her benefit if she becomes their "inside man" while she tries to figure out whether or not she likes MC-kun.
She eventually learns that she does, but only as a bro. She begins trying to set him up with his crush instead from within the Anti-Harem-Alliance.
ok guys, Is nice to see a story thread. I have this:
A family of a young male, his fiancee and his fiance's little sister arrive at a town. They made a new life there. Stuff happens, life continues, they live happy there. The guy gets a job at a restaurant as those bodyguards/watchmen. The little girl one day learns magic and accidentally burns the bar while cooking, causing the guy to lose his job. Meanwhile, there are rumors of monsters appearing at night, everyone is scared until one day a person is killed, then the church is contacted so a priest can exhorcise the town. Meanwhile, the little girl has a fight with the young MC and escapes the house, reaching the priest in the middle of the forest. The priest receive the little girl in his house, the MC goes and try to recover his little sister in law but she doesn't want to leave. More attacks happens. That night, the priest discover the little girl doing magic in her room. Next day, she's denounced as a witch and the priest is set to kill her next day. That night monsters attack the town, in the confusion the MC saves his little sister in law, but the priest attack him with several soldiers. The MC loses his life protecting his fiancee and her little sister and helping them to scape.
>>116845937 three kids get randomly summoned to a new world, there they become able to use magic. after a few months they learn that the country they are in is at war with another country, and decide to help out to beat the other guys.
Then they find out that the war started because the leaders of the country they are helping committed mass killings and kidnappings for fun or whatever. but since they alredy went to war with the other country there is no going back.
the three kids become magic neo nazis, and basically make things shitty for the people of that world.
True Self, True Love!!! My Reflection Is Really A Girl From Another World?!
After looking at the mirror late at night at a weird mansion, the MC gets frustrated over studying for his exams and hits the mirror, only to feel it himself! After closer inspection, his reflection isn't him, but herself!! In a parallel world of opposites, the MC meets his girl self from another world and must now communicate through mirrors in order to help each other through work, life, and love!
I think I hit the jackpot how do I get in touch with Japan so I can be a millionaire.
MC is a socially awkward nerd that has trouble talking to girls.. One day a transfer student is introduced to the class. She doesn't have strangely colored hair, she's not gorgeous, or moe as hell, she wears glasses, is a little chubby and has frumpy disheveled hair. They start hanging out and spending time together, but as time goes on the girl gets more and more attractive, she loses a little weight, gets contacts, and starts putting more and more effort into her appearance. Slowly the girl starts getting more attention from others in the class and the MC being a beta coward is afraid that she'll leave him so he preemptively stops hanging out with her. The MC thinks that because of the girls new found popularity she wouldn't notice that he was drifting away, but she did. She doesn't understand why the MC stopped hanging out with her, especially since she went through all the trouble to start looking nice for him. Along comes a rainy day and the MC has forgotten his umbrella, when the girl comes up and offers to walk with him home so that he can be under her umbrella. He accepts and while they are walking home she confronts him about not hanging out with her. Instead of being his normal cowardly self he man’s up and admits that he was afraid of getting hurt, afraid of making connections with her only to have them ripped away when she inevitably found someone better. Girl kisses him and they admit they love one another.
>>116865339 Now the twist While all this has been going on there are brief little blips about people disappearing on the news and talk about disappearances at school. We also strange hints that the girl may not be what she appears, like her strange overnight weight reduction, a yandere expression when a girl gives MC chocolates on Valentine's Day, and the fact that her hair seems to change length every day. A week after her confession of love the two are walking home from a date when they get mugged. The mugger stabs the MC when he rushes to protect the girl. The wound isn't fatal but the MC falls to the ground. In reaction to the MC's injury the girl releases an unearthly wail. Her body begins to morph as her skis rips and her bones break and realign. Her chest opens up to reveal a horrific set of jaws lines with hundreds of need like teeth. Before the mugger can escape he is pulled into the horrific mouth and consumed. The girl regains her composure and her normal form and rushes over the MC's side. He's freaking the fuck out. She apologies for not telling him sooner, but she's actually a shape-shifting mimic similar to the alien in "The Thing". She assures him that he doesn't have to worry though, because she'll always protect him.

MC is a biomechanic carnivorous monster who falls in love with a human girl , she falls with him too and accepts to give him parts of her flesh every month to calm his blood thirst and preventing him of going on a rampage on town , slowly the girl´s health begins to get worse as she is losing a great percentage of her body, at the same time , the MC instincts grow stronger and even he tries to eat her completely a couple of times but still manages to control himself enough to not kill her , when he realizes that the love of his life is dying because of him , he starts to wish he was human and he didn´t had his hunger so he could stay with his lover for eternity , without having to hurt her to survive
A college girl falls in love with her straight roommate. The other girl plays along as a joke. Some drama happens, and the other girl falls in love for real. Yuri kisses. The first girl was a trap all along
a girl, just into high school, is plain and simply a rich bitch. she makes her own fun by enjoying tormenting the other girls in her classes with absolutely no remorse.
one day, a couple of months into her freshman year of high school, she gets in a car accident caused by an arguement with her parents over no good reason. her parents both die and she is forced to live with her uncle living in america.
her uncle, who blames her for his sisters death (uncle on mothers side) abuses her and treats her like shit. and to make matters worse, she gets to school in america part of the way through the school year, unable to speak english well enough, left with no friends, and ridiculed by the same kind of people as herself.
>>116866229 like I said, not all the characters need to move forward the story. obviusly you can't make a story where every character is the main one. Secondary characters are also important because they help to flesh out the story, giving details or new interactions.
Is also good to remember, that females are diferent than males in the sense that the female hero's journey is circular rather than the more male linear one.
Females that take the lead, take risk and are violent aren't necesarelly feminine.
>>116866275 >Are you a fan of Urobochi or something? No, not really. The idea for Sensō Shōjo Apocalyptica was influenced a little by Madoka, which I did enjoy, but Madoka and Gargantia are the only Urobochi works that I've actually seen and I dropped Gargantia.
Reverse Harem, a girl enter in a "Full time Prank and shenanigans related activities" full of kids who's main objective it's play the best or funnier prank in the town and record it. The MC try to stop them most of the time but in the end she only makes it more hilarious
>>116867062 >like I said, she's doesn't move the story That's no excuse for her to being just an archetype. see >>116867053 Try to describe her without falling back to "she's the fiancee" or "she's the motherly type".
If you can't, then she's a flat character with little to add to the story but be a walking prop.
>>116867062 >her main purpose is an emotional one She's an object to be protected rather than a living, breathing character who adds something to the story than taking up space and filling in the main character's motivations?
character traits: Physical: black hair, honey eyes. Age: 18 psychological: she's secure of herself, she's a little disciplined, she likes everything is in order, she can get a little stuborn about topics she disagree. She likes to make sermons to her husband as punishment. Zodiac: Taurus Emotional: She can get a little angry when her boyfriend doesn't follow her orders. She's a little authorative. Favorite topics: going to church. Favorite food: sancocho.
>>116867428 That's not what the blog wrote about in regards to female motivations, though. Your female character fiancee is the epitome of the flat love interest character with little to no personality of her own.
A male high school student is summon to another world. The world is made up of psionic humans, and their society is adapted around being a psionic. As psionics have varying powerlevels, their are castes in society with the more powerful psionics acting as nobility while the less powerful are treated as commoners. The King of a particular kingdom of psionics is in a war with another kingdom, currently in a stalemate. The war is over a material that focuses and amplifies psionic abilities. They attempt a summoning ritual, tearing a whole in space-time reaching in the past, present, and future and across different dimensions to bring an overwhelmingly powerful psionic under their control. The opposing kindom has already successfully completed such a ritual, so time is of the essence and the soon to be Protags kingdom is panicking trying to find someone to match them. A particularly well respected and powerful House is selected to conduct the ritual, due to much political maneuvering and backstabbing. When they attempt the ritual however, they make a grievous error. Instead of summoning a very powerful psion, they summon a boy with apparently zero psyhic abilities. Due to the nature of the magic, it destabilizing space-time and attempting it several times will destroy that kingdom, and potentially the whole universe. Their only chance at summoning a hero failed, the House loses their political standing. With no more respect or political power, they can only do their best and attempt to train the hero into being a war machine to regain their lost prestige. ( 1/4 )
>>116867507 The first part is the Protag adapting to this new world. The technology level is analogous to modern day real life and in many ways superior, only it all assumes psychic ability. Instead of electricity powering lights and technology, they directly power it with their psionic abilities. With no psychic abilities, Protag is hopelessly loss in such a society alone. Fortunately, his summoners have provided him with a personal attendant who conveniently also functions as the main romantic interest. She conveniently teaches the protagonics and the readers how the world works. This dependency on psychic ability also extends to their war technology. As even minimum psychic ability trounces conventional weaponry, the psychics have developed weapons around boosting the efficiency of their powers. This comes in the form of lightsabers, laser guns, and energy shields that are dependent on the powerlevel of their user. Unfortunately, the Protag has zero psychic ability and these weapons are useless for him. In battle, the protag soon discovers that he isn't powerless. The mistake in summoning was that it didn't summon powerful psychic abilities, it summoned negative psychic abilities. So the weapons have no effect on him, and while ordinarily his physical means of attack would have no effect on his enemies, his negative psychic field cancels others and makes them vulnerable to conventional weaponry. The field is small at first. Why don't the enemies simply use conventional weaponry on Protag? Well he IS vulnerable to conventional damage, but the psychics have been fighting with psionic weaponry so long they don't even consider using conventional weapons. They usually make the mistake of instead of assuming he has zero psychic ability, his ability is so high he simply cancels out theirs. If you saw a tank, you wouldn't assume that it is vulnerable to a rock when your mines and missiles aren't working on it( 2/4 )
>>116867526 Then there's little to nothing about her except being a love interest. You're still describing her as nothing more than a love interest. Is there anything beyond her personality other than being a love interest?
>>116867580 When the Summoners House discovers the implications of his ability, they begin scheming to take over the kingdom. Well, they already were but the cancelling ability is so much more powerful than simply being stronger. As he battles more and more his cancel field is growing stronger, larger, and less controllable. The Protag and the summoned from the other kingdom meet in battle, and Protag wins because canceling ability > simply being stronger. With their trumpcard defeated, Other Kingdom is conquered by Main Kingdom. With the war won, summon house has regained their influence and notoriety and then some. Protags powers being increasingly uncontrollable and dangerous, cause him to be forcibly isolated from society ( imagine if your mere presence caused power outages in a several block radius ) Main Kingdom nobles debate what to do with him. They could kill him, but that runs the risk of his powers not being dependent on him being alive and just intrinsic to objects from his world and it solving nothing. They could warp him to a random dimension, likely unhospitable for Protag and him dying but leaving their society safe. It is decided against because it would be ungrateful to due that to the guy who saved the kindgom. They could try sending him back home, but there is a chance they accidentally send him to the wrong place anyways. Reopening a gate is also a massive risk of destroying the universe too, so the latter two options are discarded. While what to do is being debated, some nobles conspire to simply kill him and be done with it. They send assassins to execute him. The assassins fail, and Summon Nobles decide to use this opportunity to play Protag against the kingdom. Civil war ensues. Ultimately Summon Nobles and their allied traitors are victorious. Summon Nobles are now the ruling House, but the problem of protag disabling all their technology and ruining society is still an issue. ( 3/4 )
>>116867654 Having to choose between Protag and being rulers, Summon Nobles choose to be rulers. They declare Protag to be executed. Friends of Protag assist him in escaping. Knowing how his power works, Summon Nobles create a conventional combat squad to kill him. With his superior combat experience with conventional weaponry, Protag defeats the Summon Nobles attack squad. Protag is incredibly pissed at this point, and decides to conquer the kingdom himself. He succeeds in this endeavor, and ultimately establishes a society without psychic abilities or technology due to his fuckhuge field of psychic canceling. He marries someone who isn't maingirl, just to piss readers off. His descendants have a controllable version of psychic cancellation and psychic abilities, so they become stupidly powerful and go on to conquer the world in the far future. This doesn't happen for a long time as the cancel field obscures this ability and makes them believe they don't have any psychic powers. After Protag dies the psychic cancelling field ceases to grow, but still exists. This becomes a no-mans land, due to the massive superiority of psychic technology to conventional technology. ( 4/4 )

I wanted to do a story where this NEET fed up with his life and just sitting around doing nothing has a breakdown which ends up with him trashing his computer and downing a shit fuck ton of pills. Wakes up, realizing he's just destroyed the only thing he cares about in life grudgingly gets a job at a local convenience store to earn enough to buy a new one and promises himself he'll quit after that. He eventually makes friends with one of his co-workers after some persuasive pestering to get him out of his shell, and meets another co-worker, a girl. Who's basically perfect and super nice. Over time his life gradually starts to improve and gets better and better as he starts to actually enjoy living and even after he makes enough he doesn't quit, or even buy his computer. He keeps saving with dreams for the girl, which obviously has feelings for him but he doesn't reciprocate or show that he has them in turn, one part of his social problems he hasn't gotten over. Eventually something happens to her, I don't know what and she gets killed somehow. Maybe the day he planned to buy her something and confess. But it just sends him into this downward spiral where he just cuts off and shelters himself. The world starts becoming detached and the depression causes him to start having hallucinations. Everything is literally falling apart around him. And in the end he comes up with a plan. He believes he can fly to heaven to take her back. And by this time, legitimately believing he can fly, he jumps out his window. But he doesn't fly, he just dies. (PLOTWIST: Everything that happened was his brain short-circuiting on the pill overdose. It was all in the time frame of a minute, ending with him jumping from his window in what appears to everyone else as a drug induced suicide. It's cliche, but in the final moment of jumping he realizes that they were all just hallucinations. Making the pain and saddess even that much more. Not only did he lose her, they never existed to begin with
>>116845937 Horror anime where MC is stuck in a haunted town where shit goes crazy. Twist ending is the MC actually is unrelated to everything for once, and the rest of the characters only find out after they kill him to end the curse.
>>116866918 >Saya no Uta I read the IDW comic a couple years back, but I'd totally forgotten that it was based on a VN. Originally the story was supposed to be a Dark Comedy that focuses on the MC coming to terms with his relationship and trying to stop his yandere slime monster girlfriend from eating his friends, but I changed it and placed more emphasis on the build up to the reveal to meet the criteria of the Hard Mode challenge.
How could you make working at a convenient store fun for the reader/watcher? Maybe if you threw in some foreshadowing like at his work something weird happens that couldn't happen in real life which makes him realize that it was a dream all along or at least add something just subtle enough for the reader/watcher to notice and keep interested. Might be a 7/10 if done right.
This is just a really rough background, so go easy.
Anime takes place a few years after a devastating world war that destroys all modern infrastructure. It leaves societies crippled, and advanced technology, such as weaponry, are scarce or completely unavailable. MC lives with his family in a village that used to be home to military base. His brother was killed in the war, but he left behind a special necklace that MC wears. One day while MC is hanging out in the woods with his friends, they find out that a neighboring, and much larger, village is on their way to take over the village in hopes of finding military equipment to further strengthen their forces. MC and friends rush back to the village to warn everyone, and they gather what little defenses they have. Still, they get shredded by the attackers, and MC is killed as well. But as it all fades to black, MC wakes up the day before the attack. Only this time, two things are different. Firstly, his necklace is gone, and no one knows anything about it. Secondly, he starts getting weird visions. As if he's looking through someone else's eyes. He does retain his memories of the attack, though, so he talks to the leaders of the village about it. They don't believe him at first, but when MC's friends come back from the woods of the news, they begin to prepare. They did in fact have access to advanced pre-war equipment, and used this to fend off the attackers. During the battle, MC gathers that his visions are through the eyes of a solider of the enemy village. Now that the enemy knows of this pre-war technology, they focus all their efforts on trying to take it over, and the series takes off from there as MC's village also goes full defense mode with the technology. MC uses his special ability to win battles and gain information, as his visions get stronger and he gains the ability to get them at will later on.
>>116868451 Yea, that's why I never went along and actually worked on the story. I really liked how it ends and how depressing it is, but the journey on the way there would probably be way too boring, or I'd have to make it short.
Though I do like that idea. Have just completely insane things in the background, that only the viewer notices, showing something is up. That could give enough reason to stick around.
>In the future technology makes it possible to bring people back alive from death nanomachines, son, but it is heavily regulated by the government (due to overpopulation or some shit). I don't know, make it a story about corruption and the value of human life and the nature of death and shit. Maybe add some shady illegal underground revival shit in there.
>Mankind is leaving Earth to find a new home due to resources running low. The story is about the last patch of people on Earth waiting for their turn to leave the planet.
MC is a private detective who goes to a small comfy and mysterious town with a population of 10,000 after receiving a letter from an unknown person
The town is however eternally cursed, a serial murderer known as the Red Rose killer is on the loose, there's a crazy cult that worships an unknown deity at the outskirts of town deep in the forest, there's multiple eyewitness accounts of a horrifying ghost girl appearing from an abandoned house's windows and there's even rumors about a supposed sewer monster...
The MC must get to the bottom of what's happening
each time MC dies, similarly to Higurashi, he appears again in another manifestation of the town, with some changes to the town and it's residents, like alternative universes
>>116868496 The twist. Twist is, the other soldier the MC gets visions through is his brother. He, however, doesn't regain his memories. There would be some episodes focused on his side of the story, but the two don't meet until the last battle. In the final battle, the MC loses his power through an injury, which is a crippling blow to his village. His brother leads a squad to track down the last of MC's village, which consists of MC and his friends. MC fights off the enemy attackers, but stops when he sees his brother pointing a rifle at him. That's the last time they see each other, as MC is shot by his brother and dies.
man addicted with porn, he can't stop thinking pervy thoughts and is just plain obsessed with pornography. during work break he gets so overwhelmed by anxiety he decides to watch some porn on his smart phone, girl co-worker was standing behind him the whole time and begins to blackmail him into doing stupid and embarrassing shit that actually turns him on but keeps this a secret from her. as each trial gets more extreme and perverted as their sexual tension reaches breaking point MC confesses his love for her but she declines because she's lesbian. mc decides to undergo a sex change but he makes sure to keep some semen samples before doing so. they meet up while the girl coworker is unaware of his identity and hook up, he takes a big horse dildo and shoves it so far up her cunt and releases the sperm sample she gets pregnant and he leaves her because he found his new ultimate pleasure of getting dykes pregnant
A detective story. A woman police officer is investigating a case of a serial rapist and murderer, the last victim died in a cheap apartment. The officer went to ask the victim's neighbors, one of them is the MC, a NEET and a huge rape fetishist with his room filled with rape doujins.
MC as a suspect went with the officer, to prove his innocence he used his knowledge obtained from his doujins and rapidly found and arrested the real rapist.
The story continued, the MC was no longer a suspect but the female police officer continued to request his help for various kidnapping/rape/murder crimes.
MC was a genius at solving any case involving rape and even ended up saving a few women who were about to get raped. Unfortunatly none of them fell in love with him because they were disgusted/afraid as soon as they found out about his fetish.
Raping a woman has never been MC's fetish, his true fetish is being raped by someone. A misunderstanding that lasted almost the whole story
Your fiancee character is a flat character. A circular journey hero has motivation, personality, and goals. Yours is nothing more than a superfluous support character you can double with a maid (and she'd still have more personality).
>>116867891 >well, you can easily find if you look up circular journey heroes.
Nothing about that link regarding circular characters do they suggest that a circular character be a one-role poney with no other defining characteristics other than her role. It's the difference between generic and memorable.
The examples given, like Buffy Sommers, show that there's more to her than being a slayer or grrl power at that. She has motivations, humanizing traits, and a back story that separates her from banal action girls with zero personality whatsoever, so using that as an excuse is rather insulting.
>>116867891 Your link shows sexism right there, complete with citations. Away with your bio-truths and misuse/willful ignorance of what http://fangirlblog.com/2012/04/the-heroines-journey-how-campbells-model-doesnt-fit/ means.
In January 2005, Lawrence Summers, president of Harvard University, unintentionally provoked a public controversy when several attendees discussed with reporters some statements he made during his lunchtime presentation at an economics conference at the National Bureau of Economic Research. In analyzing the disproportionate numbers of men over women in high-end science and engineering jobs he suggested that part of discrepancy may be due in part to the conflict between employers' demands for high time commitments and women's disproportionate role in the raising of children. He also suggested that well documented greater variability among men (in comparison to women) on tests of cognitive abilities may be due to intrinsic factors, adding that he "would like nothing better than to be proved wrong." The controversy generated a great deal of media attention; it contributed to the resignation of Summers the following year, and led Harvard to commit $50 million to the recruitment and hiring of women faculty. Stimulated by this controversy, in May 2005, Harvard University psychology professors Steven Pinker and Elizabeth Spelke debated "The Science of Gender and Science".
In 2006, Danish psychologist and intelligence researcher Helmuth Nyborg was temporarily suspended from his position at Aarhus University, after being accused of scientific misconduct in relation to the documentation of a peer-reviewed paper appearing in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, in which he showed a 3.15-point IQ advantage of men over women.
>>116867891 >yes, but she is not a bitch, she can also be sweet. You didn't indicate as such in >>116867316. The only thing that stands out in that profile (whose rules you broke by describing her appearance rather than her personality) is that she's a obsessive-compulsive girl that does a lot of sermons.
Not exactly a pleasant or interesting character in the least. Generic and generic can be.
>>116871822 There are plenty of more obvious differences in genetics, to imply that this doesn't leak into psychology is fallacy. The idea may be misconstrued as sexism, and pinned on generalizations that favor stereotypical ideas of women, but those opinions do not account for the clear differences that exist between male and female behavior.
>>116872044 >There are plenty of more obvious differences in genetics, to imply that this doesn't leak into psychology is fallacy. If this is the author earlier, you're going above and beyond to protect a one-note love interest character.
If this isn't the author earlier, this is off-topic discussion that has little to do with the original topic of a flat character love interest.
The story takes place in a world which magic has existed and dissipated. The MC is an practical, rough, yet intelligent kind of person, who has taken up a side hobby in raiding the outskirts of the wasteland created by a massively devastating explosion eight years prior to make some extra cash. One day the city MC lives in is attacked by a large group of armed men, and gets caught in the crossfire. shot in the stomach and slowly bleeding out MC hears someone else injured to the side and looks over. "You don't want to die right? I don't either. Take my hand and we'll survive. Do it, hurry!" long story short magic adventure, second MC is a magic terrorist, they do lots of amoral bullshit. The twist was that the MC is female and the other MC is male, the story is actually about non-romantic heterosexual relationships and morality in general.
A self-aware comedy involving every cliche possible. However, the MC keeps on misreading the cliche, thus forcibly changing the story. Kaiju battle cliche turns into magical girlfriend cliches. Love triangles turn into zombie apocalypses. The possibilities are endless.
>>116872791 This sounds pretty fun. I'm imagining an otaku who thinks he's genre savvy getting excited at pointing out the cliches and preparing to respond to them as an anime/manga MC would only to get BTFO when things don't go as planned.
>>116872893 I can think of a few variations of the idea.
1.) As with any story, it follows the life of the MC. Their actions affect the story's progression. Say for example, a magical girl falls from the sky. This implies certain cliches for the genre. However, the MC, being an idiot, misinterprets it as an alien invasion. As a result, the world is rewritten so that the falling magical girl turns into an alien invader, thus turning the story into a sci-fi action.
2.) MC is an otaku who is confident in his ability to recognize and play off of cliches. Whenever a cliche appears, both the MC and the readers are easily able to tell whats going on. However, they end up being extremely off by simple virtue of the world being so different then they thought.
Really, its a difference between the MC being dumb and the world ever-changing or the MC being normal but the world is weird.
>>116873289 Interesting, while I feel concept feels like something you would find in a horror comedy like Evil Dead II or Cabin in the Woods, I can see where you trying to go with it. Do the other character's recognize him when he wakes up, or does he have to introduce himself every time he enters a new reality after dyeing?
A vain young man samples an experimental mind altering drug to help him cope after the death of his fiancée. However, the side effects ruin his perceptions: he sees the people he interacts with through unrealistic features that represent their flaws.
The most alarming to the vain young man is his own flaw: he sees how truly ugly he is beneath his attractive appearance. He investigates to find a cure, but he is unable find the Witch Doctor who created the drug, let alone how to cure the side effects.
Horrified and unable to cope, the vain young man intends to jump off a bridge to see if it shatters his distorted perception. Until he finds a plain looking young woman, seconds earlier: astonished how, despite her plain looks, her appearance is that of a normal human being.
The vain young man convinces himself not to jump, introduces himself, and theorizes to be cured: he must conquer his flaw of vanity. He befriends her, and she assists him in his quest; as he develops into a moral person, he grows fond of the plain girl who reminds him of his fiancée.
Intending to confess to her, the vain young man later discovers she is the Witch Doctor, finding out she is immune to the side effects and is glad the drug forces people to change for the better in secret confession.
The vain young man plans to expose her to the public, but still carries lingering feelings for her, leaving him conflicted.
A young woman is the Sole Survivor of a terrible bus accident – the rest of the passengers involved in the late night crash were tragically killed – miles away from any help. The Sole Survivor leaves the area, calling for medical aid, despite suffering head injuries. She manages to find a gas station, but by the time they reach the site, the bus, along with the passengers, disappeared.
People report the Sole Survivor is under the influence, fabricating the entire incident. She spends days in the hospital, contemplating what happened to the other passengers, only to notice the passengers in a different bus, at a different route, wearing different clothes, while on her way back home.
Deciding to question one of them, she follows one of the passengers visiting the hospital, only to witness him prey on a sleeping pregnant woman. They are Aswang; shape shifting creatures of a Southeast Asian folklore who have taken the identities of the passengers to consume on their preferred victims: human fetuses.
The Sole Survivor spends nights researching these strange supernatural creatures, disturbed over how they vary in activities, description and even personality. After studying their weaknesses, she gathers assortment of weapons reputed to kill the Aswang.
However, for each passenger killed, she catches the attention of the police, who are investigating this killing spree, believing it’s connected to the cannibal-fetus cases.
MC and his friend live normal lives, havin fun and shit. they decide to travel and explore a remote region of the planet. end up discovering temple of sorts with some weird mechanisms and scriptures. after leaving and researching the scriptures they return and manage to decipher them. it says a great catastrophe, impossible to stop in the present, will destroy the planet.
the temple mentions another temple on the surface of the moon and is actually a time machine. they decide to go back and infiltrate the first moon landing.
CONT. (pretty typical adventure so far but read until the end)
>>116878593 shenanigans ensue and they actually get to the temple on the moon. the moon temple is a portal connecting to an alien world, an the scriptures reveal that said world will enter a collision route with earth in the future, which will lead to humanity developing a world-destroying device to save themselves.
only, said planet is home to a humanoid alien race that also develops a similar tool. the temple mentions however, that both plans will interfere with each other and thus mutually fail, with both planets colliding and being destroyed.
thus, the MCs must travel to a third temple on the alien planet, so they can obtain tools that will allow them to change the outcome in favor of one of the planets, the other will however still be destroyed.
they infiltrate the alien society and discover that the aliens are actually better as a whole than humans, and much more deserving of life. they try to ask the aliens for a peaceful solution, but it turns out the aliens can't leave their planet as they need certain chemicals that can't be found on earth, and on the other hand it would be impossible for the alien planet to sustain the whole human population added to the aliens.
after lots of moral conflict and even a romance between MC and an alien girl (possibly a milf/christmas cake) leads to them deciding to save a select few humans, including family and blow up earth.
the twist: as they start their "final operation", they receive a signal with a message from themselves in another timeline, warning them that the collision is actually necessary to stop an even worse galactic event that would wipe out not only the remaining planet but millions of other alien life forms and civilizations. the message ends with the alt versions mentioning they managed to send tech to help escaping the planetary clash alive before they died, but they could only send enough to hold 2 people at most. [\spoiler].
>>116879576 oh and i forgot to mention the time portal has to recharge (on both the entrance point and the exit) forat least a year between uses, and even if it could be used straight away, the situation is such that they wouldn't have time to go back to earth and use it before shit went down.
