Read the guide before asking questions:
withdraw money + shipping out of your account when you make a preorder. Store it somewhere where you won't touch it but also won't forget about it. Then deposit the money when your order is ready
well it works for me I guess
I need to buy something. I need to spend money. It's been too long since I've gotten buyfag things. I'm not very interested in artbooks because the only ones I want, I get too tempted to get scans online and end up doing that.
I don't know if I restrained myself too much from before, or if this hobby isn't for me. I'm way too reluctant to buy something I don't absolutely love, and in terms of keychain, I already have the one's I love.
Give me one more shot.
I have an account at a bank that I've mostly stopped using for one reason or another, but recently it's found use as a figs/misc indulgences account. I just leave the card for it in a drawer so I never use it besides to go make deposits.
>If you really want to see your money go somewhere, pull it all out of your account, stack em around your collection and post it here
I don't think I'd accomplish anything by posting three rolls of hundreds, except make myself feel bad. That's pretty pathetic. I'd look like this guy.
The same fag from this question
When pre-ordering the first time, they never really ask for any of my payment option aside from credit card and PayPal. I did click on PayPal and made the pre-order, but from my understanding there wasn't anything further than that (no asking PayPal information). Do I need to put that in somewhere or will they ask me when the item finally becomes available? Again, first time AmiAmi user.
My figures have markings from paint transfers.
What's the next step up to use after warm water + gentle rubbing with fabric to get rid of the marks? Would isopropyl alcohol be too strong and remove the original paint job as well?
so I got a daki of my waifu and a onahole how do I combine these things to do lewd things with my waifu? I tried folding the pillow so like it was "in" her but it just made her look like she was being folded in half...what do I do to get fully into it?
You need to either attach the onahole to the bottom of the pillow or cut a hole into the pillow and embed the onahole. I'm sure there's someone more experienced with this here.
Stupid sexy free faggot, the era of the fujoshi and sexualized male figures is here. Its only a matter of time that their bare ass and dicks will be out.
>Its only a matter of time that their bare ass and dicks will be out.
It has already started.
Does anyone have the room with the fig collection with the Asuna birdcage one in the middle? I think there was a couch in the photo too.
Why isn't there a large number of anime dildos yet? I've ona-holes marketed with anime girls on them, but not as many dildos. You'd think this is something lonely fujoshis would snatch right up.
Forgot about the archives...
>wall-mount it like a hunting trophy on an ornamental rosewood panel
>give it some pretentious title and pass it off as modern art
>sell it for thousands of dollars to an art collector
>buy an endless supply of onaholes
Anyone know what Nanoha it is? I can't find this exact one.
I have a question about back-order items.
Do you think it's strategically a good idea to order items that are back-order on different sites? (The same item, I mean)
Let's say there's one item on Amiami on back-order and the same item exists on 1999.co.jp for a little bit more yen, but also on back-order as well. I don't mind the price since it's a little amount anyway.
What do? Should I order and see which company brings it up first? Or should I stick with one and hope that it'll eventually will back-order?
How would you go about storing figures with no boxes on a long-term basis?
A friend of mine gave me some scales years ago with no boxes, and now that my collection has grown too big for my living space I'm planning to put some older figures in storage for a while. I was going to wrap the boxless ones in bubble wrap and put them in cardboard boxes, but will they sweat wrapped in plastic? Should I wrap them in tissue paper or something first?
The most paranoid setup would probably be disassembling them, wrapping the large parts in paper and the small parts in plastic bags so they don't get lost, then put everything into a box and fill that with styrofoam beads or something similar.
How do you deal with a figure that keeps leaning?
This one in particular. It keeps leaning to the right.
Hmm. Well i remember reading it from the site that the guide links you to for figure repairs. But even I can't seem to find it. Did a google search for something similar; this sounds like what I read beforehand.
I think I came across to this a couple of months ago, but I just wanted to know /a/'s opinion.
But it may be mentioned in the guide, I just have to sleep now, no time for digging. I'll do it tomorrow.
So what's going on with this figure? I can't find it anywhere, other than hlj, but it says 'STOP ORDER'. Also, why's it cost only 2k? You'd think it'd cost a bit more since it's from the movie.
Actually that one is Banpresto, so as far as I know, HLJ will stock her. As Anon said, Sega prizes are no longer available on HLJ, which would now say Discontinued. Order Stop just means they filled in all their preorder slots for the time being, and will either reopen them as they recalculate slots (from cancellations) and will likely be in stock when she releases.
On that note, I really hope HLJ finds a new distributor for Sega Prizes, before that Q Misato goes up.
Anyone ever considering modding one of these to add acrylic sides and a door?
Going to be getting my own place soon was looking for display cases, however Detolfs don't look great if you have multiple side by side.
I can probably easily get acrylic sheets cut to the size and attach hinges via screws. Only problem is getting the hinges to attach to the shelving unit itself as the rows are hollow, although it shouldn't be a problem apparently.
I've looked on Ikea and couldn't find anything like the Detolf except stronger. Closest was the Billy with the glass doors as shown in >>116591375 but I don't think that set up looks great personally.
Chihaya looks like a fucking bad ass with this GK.
This will be my first and last Miku.
So hey, how did this turn out? How's Wing? Everyone seems satisfied despite the welded tits. I already own MF's (maid) Sansei so I'm not sure if I should bother with this.
>first and last miku
there are no brakes on the Miku train. Might aswell open your wallet already
TL;DR living in Japan. I want to sell stuff from here. What should I start with/What would sell at all?
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I figured I'd try asking you guys.
I recently moved to Japan and I'm going to be here for a while. The exchange rate right now is pretty bad for yen and I have student loans to pay back home. I figured I would sell stuff from Japan at about the exchange rate. I don't really want to make a profit as much as get my money back to the states.
Any advice on what might sell? Or what's worth selling?
judge for yourself anon
Verified by the master himself.
So uh...any other buyfags been checking their e-mails all day for that Santa letter?
Does anyone have any thoughts on limited edition manga? Are they worth it? I was looking at this auction that just went up on ebay but I really don't have an idea of how much I should go in for, for now it's low enough I'll put in a bid but since it's One Piece, vol #1, glossy cover and numbered I don't really have a frame of reference on where it might end up.
Black gold saw. Her feet is tiny and necessitate a stand, but the stand doesn't like to attach firmly, and the hair blocks every damn thing. Cuffs are goddamn huge pieces of hard plastic and hands have just a wiggle for articulation.
However, when you do get it right, she looks fantastic.
She's still my favourite figma though.
This was ma first and last Miku than I pre-ordered that: >>116599556
Not particularly expensive, one sheet of arylic should be enough to cover the whole structure, that is barely 100 dollars. Cutting it is not expensive either, since you don't need special tools for it.
Locally, on the internet you can find it for even cheaper.
No, I will buy that one Miku and one Miku only. I like Grizzry Panda's stuff a lot, as well as kz livetune's stuff. I can't buy something that I have no foundation in. Not saying that >>116599556 is bad or anything, but personally it's just another Miku to me while the Tell Your World Miku is something I can share something of a history with.
Sorry if this sounds stupid, it's just my way of committing myself to a purchase.
Become a middleman. The cheapest proxy out there charges $5 per item but they take forever, about 2-3 months to get your item. If you do it faster then you'll be my proxy service.
Post email, I wanna buy some stuff from amazon.jp
No they don't. It took them one day to confirm that they had received my package, and less than a week to ship it.
It might not be the same for everybody but they certainly don't take 2-3 months on average. Again, you just had bad luck.
You could take requests from buyfags.
Depending on where you live you have access to great stores that don't sell online.
Maybe you can find a grail for someone.
And searching rare stuff in Japan is fun.
I just ordered a few nendos from amiami and I have a question
why this thread isn't on /jp/ ?
Newfag here. Is there a place where I can still place a pre-order on the Homu Devil figure? Or am I a lost cause? I spent too much time deciding and have missed the pre-order deadline. Pls help
So, my car got stolen and stripped and I had this keychain I got from a gacha in Japan in 2010 in there. Needless to say it's gone but I was wondering if any of you resourceful people had a link to a site that sells older gacha, I've had no luck.
That sucks. Try any of the sites in the guide, like Mandarake or Rakuten. Even eBay might have something. Just keep checking, and good luck anon.
I can't find anything, but the closer it gets to her release date expect more and more people to cancel. So just keep checking all the sites that have her listed.
Maybe you should try Rakuten, some shops sell single charms/keychains and have employees that understand english. And sometimes people sell their old stuff on YAJ and Baidu.
That sucks though, I have a charm of Claudio from Ristorante Paradiso hanging in my car and I'd be crushed if someone took him.
Right? I was expecting it if anything to still be there.
I had checked mandrake, I'll check the rest of them though. The worst part is it has no real value to like sell, just sentimental value to me.
Not that I know of, but if you're living in Japan or something at that time, I think there are sites in the guide for that. But keep checking her MFC page too, since some people will probably end up giving away their preorders once her shipping price in announced.
Suruga-ya is the best place I know of for finding individual capsule items. Find that keychain on MFC and search using its Japanese name and see if they have it in.
I think the hardest part will be finding that exact one among the veritable sea of One Piece stuff.
>a charm of Claudio from Ristorante Paradiso
I didn't know such a thing existed. Good taste.
I'm so paranoid that my keychains will get dirty, let alone lost/stolen, that I just display them in my room. I've never even taken my Ah-chan out of her package.
I second the "take requests" idea.
I'd personally love it if you'd consider doing proxy buys of event goods and doujinshi and such. I have a good buyer who takes care of most of my Comiket stuff but refuses to buy anything lewd, so it's a niche I'm looking to fill.
Try this to start:
Select 雑貨・小物 to search keychains and small stuff. Also note that setting 品切れ表示 to "on" will let you browse all listings, even ones that are out of stock, and if you can find it you can click the green button to be notified if it ever comes back into stock.
My car wasn't stolen just for that, it just happened to be taken along with everything else. I had the 4th 90s honda stolen in the last 2 weeks. I don't even live in a shit area, though.
Sure, it's the least I can do for a fellow Anon. You just had your car stolen; I can only imagine how shitty that must feel.
If you find one you want, and you're willing to possibly wait a while I could even combine it with one of my own forwarded Suruga-ya orders and send it to you once I get it. firstname.lastname@example.org
Anime is banned in Canada. Enjoy prison.
Finally got lil' Link today, he's already fitting in wonderfully with the rest of the herd.
This arrived today. Sorry for my shit photography.
She is the Last One version and I have to say pretty decent. Not exactly 8K decent but not a regrettable purchase.
Imagine two guys walking past your car, one of them spots the keychain and he's like "Sweet, yoink" and then other one is like "You really just gonna break into the dude's car to steal some cartoon keychain, yo?" and then the first guy would have to say "N-nah, course not, you know how it is, let's get this whip to the chop shop" to conceal his weeabooism
What? You need a special blade to cut acrylic. Normal saw blades will just melt the acrylic and you'll end up with a very messy cut. If you get a manual acrylic knife cutter the cut won't be as clean.
You should get acrylic from your plastics store and they will do the cut for you.
While I'm at it. I actual regret getting it signed by Megumi Han over the hand drawn artwork...oh well.
>scribbles all over the art
Why would they do that?
When you receive a shipping quote and request to pay, reply to that email asking for change in shipping.
Alternatively, when you go check out, you an put in the comments box to ask for price for shipping option X.
At least when I got Sushio to sign my poster he kind of integrated it(looks almost like sidewalk art). That was cool. I really don't care that much though. I just enjoy getting stuff autographed.
No you don't, any saw blade can cut it and you should something really fucking wrong to melt it with a saw instead of cutting it.
And the rough ends can be easily fixed with sandpaper and a freaking lighter/torch, or even acetone.
Have you even cut acrylic before?
She's really good, I like her more than YANA.
And she has a nice butt and legs.
Onionskin Paper -> Bubblewrap -> Dense paper padding
They use all at the same time, so, sightly better than amiko, a bit more compact as well.
Fixed that stupid leaning to the left. Now the only thing I don't like about her is her pantsu. But that's not why I purchased her, so overall I'm happy about her.
Sorry for the cell phone picture.
Seriously, you people are too paranoid. This should be fine; it's not remotely erotic unless your mind is already in the gutter. If you get caught you can just tell them that it's legal because she's
really thousands of years old.
Do any of you show you powerlevel in public? This just came in the mail and it's the only way you'd know for me. I think it's obscure enough, though.
Actually, in Canada (and maybe some other places) the judge gets to decide how old she is. Doesn't matter if you tell them she's a certain age if he thinks she looks 12 or whatever.
I've read the guide before, and to the best of my knowledge this isn't in there; although there is a chance it has been added since in which case I apologize.
Are conventions any good for picking up merch? Conventions in America that is; I've never been to one but was thinking about checking one out; do they even sell stuff at conventions? Is the stuff (if sold) any good? Is the stuff (if sold and any good) overpriced or good deals?
also wouldn't mind meeting some local otaku grils
I would be embarassed of using such a thing. I have anime wallpapers on my cellphone and I have to hide that or i'll get people giving me weird looks like i'm some abomination
I don't do clothing cause it usually attracts the type of people that I hate, but I agree on the husbando keychains. Too bad a keychain of my husbando wouldn't match my phone case anymore.
Not even something small like just a phone case?
nah brah, that's like the definition of not obscure. It isn't mainstream yes; but that's because it isn't mainstream anymore, but once was. Like doreamon or sailor moon or hello kitty or something, normalfags will recognize that relatively easy even if they never watched it (e.g. I never watched cardcaptor sakura and can see what that is)
It wouldn't come across as otaku or weeb if that's what you're worried about; it'd come across as hipster
I think mines obscure enough that nobody would know, though. It's not like I have anime characters all over it, THAT I would be embarrassed by. I have my husbando on my lock screen though, and I do hide that.
Anyone ever shop here? I just bought a XINZHIDA Miku figure and I'm 99% sure it's a bootleg. I was just surprised to see this little shop at my local mall and even more surprised they had figs.
that doesn't prove shit.
you can buy crap online too, just trying to see if conventions are 100% crap.
I'll take that into consideration. If they have something I really really want, I'll probably be willing to overlook off-brand or high-prices for instant gratification vs importing, but I'll keep in mind the lower quality and higher pricing.
Yeah but you're also on 4chan, so It's not surprising you know what it is even if you haven't watched it. Based on my experiences I think most people wont notice it.
Can't I be both?
True. I wore my SnK shirt out to a thing a friend invited me to, and one of their friends started talking with me about anime, which was fine, but then he started to hit on me, which was awkward as fuck.
>tfw anon turns out to be your little sister
dude cardcaptor sakura went offair before 4chan even came online
and frankly, I only got into anime relatively recently; (<1yr ago, was a jock normalfag making fun of the anime clubs at hs/college for most of my childhood)
Anyone in their mid 20s or early 30s who was a kid, or around kids in the 90s will know what pokemon, yugioh, dbz, doreamon, hello kitty, tamagotchis, etc... are regardless of how into anime they were or are
Shitty Moto G camera, so quality ain't great. It was $24 and the printed Miku looks a bit bured on the box.
Everyone on the road it a witness to my powerlevel.
Is the detolf made with bootleg materials and slave child labor?
I can't understand how it's so low cost, similar glass displays seem to cost at least double.
You could have spent it on a legit one.
ok, at this point im genuinely curious, are you one person who's just on all the time getting your pantsu in a twist about capitalization and punctuation, or are there actually a bunch of you self proclaimed grammar cops?
to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure which possibility scares me more
Holy fuck that is amazing. If only I had a car.
So do you guys only buyfag to share with the rest of the world through the internet? Do you not feel like shit for not having anyone to share your hobbies instead of trying to show off to anonymous people?
You live and you learn. I'll probably just stick to buying shit from online.
>for the Hatsune Miku
I don't even feel bad for you, idiot.
Detolfs aren't really solidly build either if you think about it. They're literally just 4 sheets of glass held together by two blocks of wood and gravity.
The shelves themselves are just sitting on a thin metal frame, there's enough space for them to fall between them if you don't center them properly.
That reminds me. I was canvassing for a local election in October and at one duplex I went to, their neighbor had a Nyanko-sensei and tempura shrimp plush just hanging on the door to the house.
A hobby is a form of freedom of expression. If you can't walk outside like the hipster fags you dislike, than you are in no position to tell ME what the concept of a hobby is. You're the one that has no balls to walk outside wearing an Anime T.
Because anyone who likes to decor their room MUST like horribly tacky anime apparel right?
Yes , you are getting the concept of a hobby horribly wrong, and yes, you are bundling some people with very specialized hobbys with some others.
My hobby is not dressing myself like a retard, I like plastic butts, I like artbooks, I like anime.
> book with muramasa and chaika ass in cover comes with a corner bended.
> Every page is also noticeably bended
What do. Time to complain to nips?
I know that feel, I'm furious at this
>You're the one that has no balls to walk outside wearing an Anime T.
Nigga what you talking about
Is a form, but that is not the definition, retard
>an activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation
Do I really have to show everyone in public that I'm relaxing or enjoying myself?
Yeah this figure just isn't doing it for me. Although the legs are nice, the rest of the figure came out worse than I expected, but the face was about what I expected it to be. Are the flames on the base removable? And would you mind taking more pictures? I might get her if she ends up going for less aftermarket.
No one does that anymore. Only reason people buy now is because they put out a lot of shit. All my stuff is coming from BiJ. BiJ has better prices too.
They have the highest prices out of the four.
You guys are early to mid 20's, going or about to graduate from college and you expect not to be insulted for not having your cherry popped yet? It's almost 2015, get with the program you idiot.
>They have the highest prices out of the four.
For the most part the higher prices compared to Amiami are small amounts. Personally I just treat it as a premium for the far superior service I get from HS, among other reasons.
Just in clear wrapping and newspaper, and that's it.
Thanks anons, never had shit like this to deal with. Sucks ass it had to happen to that book.
>far superior service I get from HS
Like what? I'm not challenging you, because I say the same for BiJ, but when I think about what better service actually is, I draw a blank. Packaging is the only thing that comes to mind.
Funny thing is that I've heard countless people say "I wish I was still a virgin and didn't rush into things"
Another person I know, who is a complete normalfag, has heard the same thing as well because he was actually smart enough to save his virginity. Enjoy your regret when the time comes.
For the most part, HS has been good to me whenever I needed to contact them. For example, there have been a few situations where I've had to ask for a payment extension, and they've granted it every single time that I've asked, with no hassle, and they have cancelled a few items under the condition that I only do it on rare occasions. Superficially, I prefer the layout of the site itself, and the amount of bonus points you get from orders there outweighs the extra you pay compared to Amiko. Also you don't have to contact customer service for recombination, which is stupid to begin with.
Flames aren't removable from what I can see. I thought she came out really good, so I'm happy with her.
Not sure if you are serious but, Amiami's system lets you recombine items by yourself, no need to contact them. Also, they do let you cancel and offer 7 days extensions if you ask them to.
And the points you get from HS are not nearly enough the discount you get from either Amiami or BiJ, as some anon mentioned, they are the most expensive ones when it comes to the big 3 plus BiJ.
>Also, they do let you cancel and offer 7 days extensions if you ask them to.
>they let you cancel
When? Anytime I've asked it's been a definitive no, and I only ever got one extension.
According to the buyfag guide, at Suruga-ya
>Actually used goods are marked Rank B (roughly equivalent to AmiAmi Rank C)
I'm not seeing any ranking info at all. Is this just old info in the guide, or am I missing something?
I'm seeing lots of interesting stuff, but stock pictures + no info on condition is stopping me from buying anything. Should I worry? If you've ordered from there, how was it?
Well, good to hear that. I hope MFC has enough pictures. Not to be a faggot, but yours aren't very good.
Last time was last week, I've canceled at least a dozen products, and gotten 5 extensions or so, once it was a 15 days extension as well.
I do have 20kY orders monthly for the past 3 years though
Looks better without the lean. I had a feeling those plastic base pegs weren't going to be enough when people started mentioning how heavy she is.
Still hoping for an anime-based Chaika figure since I like that design a bit better.
An item got off back-order, and I got this as a result:
>Subtotal: 1,830 JPY
>Shipping: 990 JPY
>Grand total: 2,820 JPY
I guess I'll deal with it, but kind of overkill for a shipping for me. Any tips for next time? I applied for SAL registered.
Is this information in the guide? Please tell if it so.
At least HS doesn't include the Japanese tax on items in their international store. And the amount of points you get cuts the price different between them and Amiami a fair amount.
Use USAL instead and it'll be 580 yen, but you won't have any tracking or insurance.
Also it's international shipping, and 990 yen is just a little more than it costs for me to mail a 1 pound package from NH to FL, so I'd say that's not much at all.
[Rank B] will specifically appear in the title if the item is thus. The actual condition of a Used Item without the [Rank B] marking will range from "the original owner looked at the packaging once" to opened packaging or missing outer box for small trading figures.
[Rank B] is definite signs of use and damage.
> Gotta wait 'till business hours for a reply

I'm well aware my pics aren't very good. I have terrible lighting and a potato, plus very limited space to arrange things. I try to make due though, I dumped like 50 pics that came out worse than that.
I personally like her more than YANA. Only real complaint is how hard it is to swap hands. Her hair is gorgeous.
I was just searching for the word santa every so often, getting nothing. Last year it was constant.
I wasn't planning to spend much on it, but I found an application a while back that generates knitting patterns from images, and was planning on getting something done with that.
I bought a bunch of doujinshi from them recently, and besides most of them having stickers on the covers—which I'm pretty sure I can remove without damaging anything— only one of the doujinshi came with a damaged corner. And while that sucks, it's not terrible considering it was 1 out of 22, especially when the majority of them were from 2007 and 2008.
