The new edition has a new open ending.

Nagai was offered a deal to make a new Mazinger anime so he put Mazinsaga on hiatus for Z Mazinger. Nevertheless, the anime project was canned and the manga too. Technically, Mazinsaga is still on hiatus, just like Shin Violence Jack.

Recently Uncle Go returned to the Mazinverse with Grendizer Giga so who knows if someday he'll continue Mazinsaga. BTW, Duke seems to heterosexual on Giga

It was published last year or something like that along with the new edition of Devilman (this also had new and redrawn stuff) and some of his other works, the covers OP posted are from it.
I'm pretty sure you can easily found a bunch of reviews on Japanese Amazon and blogs (some of them also have image comparisons).
