CH 138 is out!
also Re:Translations has a links up for sheildbro now, and seems to be pretty quick on updates.
This is a dream scenario, Prolific translator can take a break and other people keep translating. Look at any other L/N out there, and they all seem to have only one translator.
It just feels like it's not moving very fast because there is SO MUCH LEFT.
On the upside we get to keep having these threads every day.
This translation is rough, editors where?
why are there so many 'reincarnated into a fantasy world' themed LNs/WNs being translated recently? is this the future?
tate no yuusha
konjiki no word master
Yuusha Party no Kawaii Ko ga ita no de, Kokuhaku Shite Mita
Monster no goshujinsama
Gun-Ota ga Mahou Sekai ni Tensei shitara, Gendai Heiki de Guntai Harem wo Tsukucchaimashita!?
SLIME TENSEI MONOGATARI
If I were to guess it's cause the kids who grew up with massive MMO's being omnipresent in their lives are finally oldfags and writing.
And then weebs who are from the same generation are reading it, then translating.
just my guess
Why are so many of them complete shit?
Why is this just another Mahouka rip off?
Main character is just another special snowflake that has his own harem and is oblivious to it. Not to mention only god class opponent can kill him.
All of them are self-insert.
Mahouka is anything but oblivious to his harem, he's married three AND has three kids.
>another special snowflake
well duh, nobody'd read an LN about a salary man going about his day-to-day life if there weren't something interesting about him.
This was good until things started going well for him. Been going downhill since.
Why this couldn't have the original ending. All you whining how tragedy endings suck think about how much worse Juliet and Romeo would be if Shakespeare got bitched about how tragedy sucks and had to redo the whole ending.
Except that the gets healed by the best healers in the country and gets up in a day or two. There's nothing bad about it when he can kill divine beings with it.
>Also if it's all dark all the time then it gets a bit repetative. Have to mix it up so the SUFFERING hits harder
I've never understood that claim. How does making a series less depressing and awful make it more depressing and awful?
Does Shieldbro die in the original?
Some of that TL is pretty much unreadable, even with the TL Note: I have no idea what they're talking about.
Better than nothiong but damn I hope Bakahou or Yoraikun double checks this one, it's beyond just editing as far as salvaging goes.
So what exactly did Firo do to that Filorial egg? It read very creepy to me. She poured her magic into it and said now it will never become like her. Did she just force it to be forever a regular bird instead of having the chance to be another queen due to the shield's leveling correction?
However, because of Motoyasu, she ends up evolving into a Queen after all (and Firo's second-in-command). While Filorial Queens can prevent normal Filorial from growing into Queens/Kings, they can't stop the process if a Hero wishes for a Filorial to become a FATBIRD.
Tanuki is on the brink of murder.
Shield-kun just doesn't understand.
The more he resists the wetter she gets.
Different. I did say this is the same philorial whom Firo just sealed in this chapter. Motoyasu's team of 3 are registered as his slaves, but all the other philorial he got (and the ones already on Naofumi's farm) were registered as Naofumi's (without Naofumi's permission).
okay, I got you. I thought maybe this one was transferred to him somehow since you said it changed due to his wishes. So basically any hero can wish for another hero's Filo Rial to turn into a queen and it will happen. That seems odd to me.
Webnovels on narou can basically divided into two types:
Self insert escapist fantasy written by highschoolers: The MC is usually in highschool and is either
a bullied kid (he plans and kill his bullies, of course the bullies would be vilified to the extreme to make it seem justified),
a cool loner that's better than everyone (he'd figure something shifty going on but not warn anyone of the danger, after all it's troublesome, not his responsibility and they're at fault for being dumb and not noticing it) or
an average normal guy with average looks (the text would keep insisting he's average but turns out to be a super special snowflake).
The plot would be a blatant fantasy power fantasy with the protag going on grand adventures BTFO of everyone and bitches left and right falling for him.
Self insert escapist fantasy written by 30+ year olds: The MC is usually a 20-30+ overworked salaryman that gets transported/reincarnated into the fantasy world. The MC would be a servile docile guy that's (only) good at sucking up to his superiors. It's still a power fantasy but not as blatant and it's mostly about the protag making the best out of his second life and trying to live peace.
I'm glad that some of the characters who become more important later on are introduced earlier and given more attention. Keele, for example, but also Takuto. Then there are the heroes of Glass' world too, both the 4 heroes and the star heroes. They barely ever got any attention until the end in the WN, so it's good that they're being given so much attention in the LN (even if almost all of them possibly end up dying tragically).
They're different but very similar.
To be precise there are three categories:
>reincarnation into a fantasy world
>transplantation into a fantasy world
>playing a hyper realistic VRMMO
The largest common denominator is that ordinary people now live a fantasy and get to use their old world knowledge to their advantage. Some fics are a combination if them.
In short, chunni fulfillment.>>116368298
I wish people put as much effort into Overlord as they do to Shieldbro
translation for 138 wasn't bad. it was definitely better than 128. biggest problem was that translator anon wasn't sure who was talking. in one of the dialogues in it, firo says "firo?" and he put it as naofumi too. but beyond that it wasn't bad, especially if you consider it was his first
128, on the other hand, had a bunch of parts that plain simply didn't make sense. though i don't want to sound ungrateful. it was still better than not having it translated and you could still understand most of it
The elf martial artist? I find it an alright read, but nothing mind blowing.
The protagonist is dense as a black hole when it comes to romantic feelings, but he gets some bonus points to telling a girl to wait for his answer when she clearly tells him she likes him.
After reading Spear Hero Gaiden, believe me or not. Actually he is not to different from Naofumi, he is expy and foil at the same time.
His narration fucking hilarious and awesome.
>Actually he is not to different from Naofumi
Well. Yes. Like Naofumi, he's also a bit broken. He's more positive, about it, though.
And a lot more insane.
I love the fact that he laughs using both roman letters and katakana in his thoughts.
the one with the dragon sounds like a fanfic i read called Reincarnation: First Monster, it has a couple of flaws and the protag is a bit too edgy but i find it rather enjoyable.
never heard about that one, whats it called?
he is undoubtedly the most insane person in that world, even evil goddess isn't as insane as him.
I believe that his obsession for philorial and misogynistic more to his psyche than spear's curse.
His mindset more or less is same like Naofumi. The only difference is approach, focus, and how to achieve the goal.
And he LOVES to kill pigs. I love his narration about pigs
