What light novel are you currently reading, /a/?
And how is it?
Vol.4 fuck that fucking shit
>Read the novel
>Holy shit no one got killed this volume
>Fucking character suddenly being meta about a pattern in the story. We would know from time and duration of the film/story which would be the climax and which would be not.
>Got fucking mind blown
This is the first Fate-related LN I'm reading and I'm only four chapters into it, so I don't think I'm in a good position to answer that. Compared to some other LNs I've read, though, (some KagePro stuff, Shana), she's definitely a good writer.
My biggest complaint so far would be the endless and endless descriptions of Manaka's beauty and sweet voice and shy manners and her fairy-like movements. Her and Saber's interactions have been enjoyable to read because they both have skewered views of each other. Only Assassin has been introduced so far and she's pretty passive, so I can't exactly comment on the servants (the other six are all Sakurai's).
His impression of Manaka is that she's a lovely, good-natured, beautiful and super deredere girl. Manaka is actually completely yandere for him and so fucking crazy she manages to spook a Servant.
Manaka imagines Saber to be her prince on a white horse, but Saber is a dork. On occasion he attempts to compliment her cooking or beauty but all he can get out is a "thank you" or "I'm grateful", and then he berates himself for his lack of knightly manners. Manaka is completely oblivious to his dilemma and it fits her vision of him perfectly, so she's all like, my cool, perfectly mannered prince.
That's a dude and he's the protagonist.
Actually, story is reincarnation; basically, dude was an awesome programmer with a decent job and is a mecha otaku. Unfortunately, he gets killed by a drunk driver. Then he gets reincarnated into that world and finds that there are mecha in the world so he fanboys and decides he wants to pilot one.
I'm re-reading the novels of the loli protector, also known as the TouMAN
The girls hang out around him because he's a soothing cute trap, but I wouldn't really call it a harem. He's more like a mascot than anything.
The character and relationship development in Knights and Magic feels really thin compared to Mushoku Tensei. The pacing is a lot faster, but I'm waiting until the next volume to decide whether that's a bad thing or not.
Mushoku Tensei, but currently waiting on Slow-kun to translate.
It truly is suffering.
I just finished Silver Cross and Draculea (fucking AWFUL don't read it) and I'm thinking of starting the Monogatari series to see how different it is.
Other than that I'm waiting for the next volume of Utsuro to Hako no Zero Maria, Ero Manga Sensei, and Oreshura
Dialogue-heavy, and a lot of anime tropes that it probably wouldn't even need to be a good story, but it's still pretty well-executed. I love the fact that it's a fantasy world without magic.
Basically what >>116264904 said.
Also reading this but waiting for Setsuna since he's translating volume 10 of Vanadis and his editor had some rl problems.
I'm thinking on reading this one from tomorrow onwards.
Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere. Spanish Armada just started, so not quite at pic-related yet.
Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon 2A (at chapter 22) and Owari no Chronicle 5A (reading chapters as Js06 releases them).
Fun things are fucking fun. There can't be another series in the world as simultaneously stupid and intelligent as Horizon, and OnC is just full on equal parts humor and badassery.
How is 2B?
2A was kind of a drag in the anime, but it's more interesting in the LN, so I can only imagine 2B will blow that out of the water.
>get ready to be blue balled when you finish the current volume.
Partially why I've been putting it off for so long, because the time between volumes is so much, it's been on my list forever.
at least the next one is the last one. you might want to hold off on reading it though, cause you're going to be angry with the cliffhanger ending of volume 6, especially when so much dumb shit happens in the volume
Like most of the other A-parts, 2A does a lot of the setup, and 2B handles the meat of the story. Representative battles, then the negotiations, then the Armada and saving Mary. There definitely is a lot more happening going on.
Oh yea I know that one. The comedy was great and it even doubled as social commentary.
