What are you talking about? Finally some anime with mature characters in it! I actually kinda liked how even in original half the characters were already in university. It helped the atmosphere, in my opinion, what with it being connected with scientific theories.
And 21 years old isn't old at all. It isn't even much older than 16 or 18. Well, unless you're into loli, and there were no loli in S;G anyway. People live until 60-80 years. If she was 55 years old, I would kinda understand you... But yet, Joseph Joestar is awesome at any age, so even that is not a constant.
In two words, it actually looks kinda interesting... despite being a direct sequel to the game with pretty much ideal ending. I sure hope they can manage to make the ending at least not terrible. The original ending was just too beautiful. And most of the bad ones too, to be honest. I really liked how they somehow managed to give a beautiful and seemingly perfect normal ending... and then build up on it to somehow even better ending. The pacing at the end was near ideal too.
I'm really scared that they will make it moot in the sequel if they're not careful.

Fuck, I wish the sequel's anime adaptation will have Huke's character design, I don't want White Fox butcher more this licence by being even more inconsistent.

It's not about their age, it's the fact that the characters look way too different for being set only 5 years in the future. The whole art directions seems to be different.
Plus, it's only going to be an LN, and nobody in their right mind bothers with LNs.
I wouldn't mind seeing an S2 for Steins;Gate where they simply adapt other routes.

Now the stuff about Okarin and Kurisu's relationship stagnating... That is alarming. Wasn't the entire point of the ending that Okarin wasted god-know-how-many years of his life purely on saving Kurisu, and only that allows him to finally trick out time? I mean, seriously, he wastes years building a goddamn time machine purely for her but yet they're not happy together after all the effort? If it turns out to be anything other than an effect of physical distance between them and they don't jump to being cute right after they meet again, then this sequel already made one bad choice. I think at this point it would be better to just show their actual daily life; I don't know what more can they struggle through for their love. Nothing beats what has already been defeated.
Though the idea that Okarin tried to make his own company but is struggling at the moment seems like it has potential. That is, if at the end his company finally starts to turn up a profit.
