How could they allow Love Live to overtake it?
Umi is the only reason i watched Love Live.
Shes the best girl.
Boys don't look like this anon.
I like the artstyle of Love Live more.
The animation in the Idolm@ster looks wack as fuck sometimes.
All because of Maki.
Her perfection can't be beat. There is absolutely nothing they can do.
Idolmaster has Makoto, that is all I need.
Bandai brought LL during Im@s' downtime. Now they bring Im@s back while LL takes a break. This stuff is all planned to maximize profits from people like you. They cover all their bases with both series.
>The only good characters in Love Live i can think of are Umi, Kotori and Nozomi.
Umi > the rest
Not really. In terms of development and character interaction LL is superior. However, Im@s has more based characters.
They got bored of IM@S. How many times have you seen the nips throw away something they were obsessed with for something newer and shinier? It's happened countless times.
Keep in mind IM@S has been around since 2005. That was a pretty good run. It's possible the franchise will revive with Cinderella or a new game but it's not a sure thing. The movie really didn't help anyone.
There's this kid I know who was completely fucking obsessed with IM@S, all he did was link videos and fan art every day for years. He switched to LL once it got an anime and never says a word about IM@S.
LL is just the latest spark. I'd be surprised if it lasted as long as IM@S, but even if it does it'll fade away just like every other property. That kid doesn't even talk about LL much anymore. He's already moving on. LL really has nothing outside an anime and a few songs.
I don't see LL really staying long. It doesn't have anything for people to cling on to like IM@S did with its games.
I think if IM@S would've kept releasing game content rather than reselling the same shit it would've stayed longer. I also think Cinderella girls ultimate split the franchise up more than it added new fans.
We'll see what happens though with the new Cinderlla anime. Let's see how willing IM@S "fans" are to throw away their girls for something newer and shiner.
LL has overtaken nothing.
Idolmaster still outsells it. Just in a different way now.
LL is currently more popular. If you talk to fans of the idol genre who liked IM they switched to LL. If you look at fanart, it's shifted to LL. The rate of stuff coming out for LL was much higher.
Will IM come back? Maybe.
Your metric is pretty dubious though. Of course IM has made more money in total. It's been around since 2005.
>Let's see how willing IM@S "fans" are to throw away their girls for something newer and shiner.
This anon is boycotting the anime unless the original cast shows up in more than half the episodes
>a male dark but not edgy character joins in LL as the MC
>he wants to destroy the career of the rabus
>burd somehow befriends him according to his plan
Will burd turn out devil? Will he misserable fail?
Love Live has
1. The Music CDs
3. LLSID the Vita Game.
4. The Manga, published in Dengeki.
CG is coming back. We will wait and see if it can break the sale records.
Kotori introduces Honoka as her Girlfriend to the Male MC
MC begins a plan to break them up and mess with all the relationship.
Tries to convince Honoka that Kotori is cheating on her with Umi. How very Shakespearean of him
Honoka confronts Umi. To his surprise, Honoka asks Umi if she wants to join her and Kotori for a threesome.
Male MC ragequits
Im@s has SideM.
Last season, Shounen Hollywood aired which was based off a novel series about Idols. It's getting a second season.
The 3rd Idol Winter will see Cinderella Girls, New Gen Aikatsu and 4th Gen Pretty Rhythm hopefully engaging in mortal combat with UtaPri.
Love Live has Kimino Sakurako
Honoka is what kept me away from Love Live.
Say what you will about Idolmaster, they didn't force Haruka down our throats to any kind of the same degree LL did with Honoka.
They're both the most generic shitty and boring as fuck girls possible attempting to be shoehorned into the lead by market surveys of drooling idiots and no one likes them except idiots.
That bitch better pay up the RedxBlueOTP she goddamn owes.
The anime only highlighted how bad she was with her drama brain problems.
It's funny though how Honoka got the EXACT SAME drama brain problems except for a dumber reason. Try thinking for yourself LL.
I don't know about you but Idolmaster and Love Live just wouldn't be the same without their leaders to
1. Ganbare hard with everyone else to lead them to the top
2. Master the Yuri Harem
3. Keep Blue from getting lonely.
>the most hipster of pairing
I love it when blue girls lose in the end.
Considering their last concert venue had a capacity of under 1000, I would give WUG about 4 years.
Speaking of which, I wonder what happened when WUG met Mimorin.
Idols are all about popularity contests. It's only natural that the fans of them would be extremely obnoxious. This is geared towards Im@s fans now but will eventually happen to LL when the next big thing rolls around.
>I don't know about you but Idolmaster and Love Live just wouldn't be the same without their leaders to
Haruka is no one's leader.
Honoka is just a fucking retarded mary sue plot device.
New Question, when will they make a anime of Tokyo 7th Sisters or Star Plus One to cash in on the Idol train?
You got a point. But then again im@s fans loves to shit talking about LL while I don't really see that much on the other side.
Why im@s fans are so salty?
I like both series though
I remember watching the Im@s anime first after I started nominally following the LL MVs (2011).
I don't feel guilty about 'abandoning' Im@s at all mostly because I wasn't a big fan of the anime in the first place.
Come to think, I only watched it because I thought it was a Second K-On and /u/ told me there was yuri.
Cheer up friend.
I get the feeling that Sun/Lan/Den is closely watching the success of CG and considering if they should start forcing their own CGs.
Not that I would mind.
>third years get axed to
Damn, AKB really has the shittiest story among aidoru shows, and I mean it. Fucking waste of premise
Meh. Still not as bad as WUG.
It's a shame because the Movie dance scene was great.
the real question is, who is the best idol, /a/?
mine will always be Chihaya
Chihaya is everyone's best idol. I proved it with science
She's just a bait for moetards
I like both series, just in different ways. im@s feels like it has a ton more depth to it, mostly because if you actually play the fucking games you get to a point where you know the girls personally.
Like, you literally need to know them well to get perfect communication scores with them, which are basically essential to survive the games in hard modes. You spend dozens/hundreds of hours with your girl(s); you are their guide and they are your plaything; you can tease them if you feel like it (i.e can afford to mess around) etc. For example I feel like I know Chihaya almost like a friend, whereas I know any of the Love Lives like I know other anime chars - just someone to dote over. Which is nice in its own way, but not the same feeling.
So basically what I'm saying is im@s is truly about the games. That is its main vehicle and probably will remain so. Love Live's main vehicle is the anime, so, naturally it does very well in this arena, however in overall revenue/sales etc I don't know if LL has truly overtaken im@s. It's the hot new thing is what it is, while im@s is just kind of there and hasn't changed a whole lot in 10 years. The upcoming ps4 game will be the true revitalization of im@s, way beyond the scope any anime for the franchise could accomplish, because it looks like they are starting to finally back off of 765 pro in favor of developing other teams. Which honestly is fine by me; the franchise needs fresh air.
The problem with 0048 is simple.
They tried to put a story about girls trying hard to be idols with a galactic war story resulting in a lot of mood whiplash.
Which isn't to say it couldn't work, it just needed to be better written. There are a lot of real-life stories of teens continuing to practice their 'degenerate art' under the nose of a totalitarian regime.
Not in the same canon as anime, but Umi is totally gay for Honoka in LLSIF.
I won't. Stay away so that your purity is secured. Don't ruin yourself.
And guess who Kana liked? It all comes back to the source.
Actually the main vehicle for Love Live are the School Idol Diairies. The anime was just a plus. You learn a lot more about them in their diaries than you do in the anime, ever.
Like Umi, Eli, Maki, and Hanayo were completely neglected in the anime. COMPLETELY neglected. I know what you'll say "But Eli was in the first half of the first season" as an antagoinst. We learned nothing about her through that bitchy attitude except that she was actually a softy. That's it.l
See the first episode.
They are holding a concert singing Aitakatta and then these soldiers crash the guerilla concert with mechanised soldiers complete with 'no idol' missiles.
I can see the joke but it could have been more grounded. How about replacing the missile barrage with a water cannon?
LL has better singers and anime. iM@S has better songs and games.
LL is awesome and all, but iM@S still has the games. Though getting to know the same characters once again won't cut it for the next game. LL can continue releasing music videos until people lose interest or something.
>1 hour later
I'm starting to warm up to HonoUmi. Maybe this time, Blue will not be NTR'd?
There's also Aikatsu. It's a good time to be at Bandai Namco.
We will also have to wait and see if Project Omega Quintet succeeds.
I don't know about you two but I believe the 'main vehicle' of LL is it's music. The anime just made the franchise even more popular and increased CD sales four-fold.
I guess. I love LL but I don't have the vision to see where they can take the franchise based on the ending of S2. The movie might have the answers but we will have to wait and see.
Off the top of my head
I guess you can mark it down to opinions. There are people that like the music and others that like supporting their franchises. I like LL songs even though Im@s sounds cleaner/more professional.
>2014 in the year of our Maki
>not accepting Goddess Nishikino as your true lord and savior
Because the music is good?
Aya Ucchi Uchida
Miki is great in Relations and Heart of Marionette, or any serious type songs. So's Yukiho. Makoto and the twins are subjective because of the style of their songs. I'd agree with Haruka and Ritsuko though.
The best im@s singers are much better to me than the best LL singers, though imo.
It also really depends on what particular song you're listening to; some girls do very very well in some and not so good in others. Even mamiami chipmunk voices sound quite good in a few instances. Like LL, there is a large library of im@s songs outside the games (or later available as DLC), which have some of the best songs bar none, so you may not have ever heard some of the im@s girls at their best unless you went through these. For example the 8-bit im@s album alone sounds better than almost anything I have ever heard from LL.
Pile can' t even sing live without cracking. She's done it in literally every song she's performed in.
And Yurika can sing, they changed her voice right before Wonderful Rush. Like seriously listen to her old solos. Mermaid Festa Vol.1 Solo, go listen to hers. It's fucking great. I don't know why the fuck they decided to change how they wanted her to sound for Hanayo, it's really upsetting.
What will 2015 be?
The year of Uzuki?
I just like Sora's voice, period. I also hope that Emitsun will be able to save Milky Holmes from the No Fun Lolis.
Why is the production value on all the LL songs so low? Like, it sounds like they set up a rig in a garage and just took that recording. They all sound awful. Both the composition and in quality.
No it's not a joke. You want to fight?
That's what you get when you mix iM@S and LL fans in a single thread.
Still the best song and the Best Idol Drama.
Haruka will always be there to protect her Chihaya.
How can you say you really love her when you haven't even spent at least $5000 on her merchandise?
The anime songs aren't that good anyway. Surprisingly I think the best album is the LLSIF one. Takaramonozu and Paradise Live are both great songs. That's a pretty hard feat for LL albums.
I think it's been on every Love Live song I've heard. To be completely honest, I haven't downloaded the CDs so it might be at slight fault of streaming services, but even IM@S songs sound better.
First vision, especially early on, were low quality, yeah. I love IM@S, but a whole lot of first vision stuff is hard to listen to before they remastered most of it.
Stop with the burd already!
Or these, barring youtube QUALITY / in-game rips (also one's a duet but still)
Overall I like the construction/variety of im@s songs/vocals much more than LL, which sounds more prepackaged/tinny in most aspects. Mediocre voice in a superior song > good voice in a crap song imo. That is to say most LL voices are in fact mediocre too, which is why I can't even compare the two.
Let me help.
I wonder what Emitsun and Eriko think of the Im@s v LL (and possibly v Aikatsu) thing?
It's what Scamco would want
Imas is more melody/pops focused, where LL is more like 3DPD idol group (AKB etc) music. There's no comparison for me; im@s has superior compositions and much more variation in melodies and range, but if you're into AKB and those idols you're more likely to prefer LL type music, since you can obviously stand it.
>Japs already don't like Umi that much.
This is why I watch Jap shit instead of retard shit who thinks Umi is decent. Umi is worst LL. She literally does nothing but exist and be horrible.
Okay seriously, Best Love Live song
2nd Best Im@s song after Yakusoku
Best Aikatsu Song
AKB and those idol groups have their music played basically everywhere you walk in Tokyo. There's no avoiding it; even people who hate the music eventually warm up to it at some point. It's bound to have some sort of effect on peoples' tastes.
Yoshino Nanjo turns into a NEET who can't accept she's a unmarried woman and gradually dies of loneliness.
But seriously, I'm expecting her to follow the trend and announce she's Mama Kokoro-chan very soon.
Maybe love live would be better if it isn't stupid high school bullshit seriously for fucks sake how aren't the nips sick of high school bullshit already is that the only fucking setting they know
I'm an LL fan but I don't follow AKB.
I remember seeing their MVs about 7 years ago. Long story short, they sang the OP of an anime I watched. I thought they were some novelty group with too many members who will catch on.
I'm still right about the first part but I'm wrong about the second.
For 3d Groups I do follow
-StylipS (Yuriko Nanao (Miku Ito))
-SPHERE (Ex-K-On and Ayahi Takagaki)
So which are the best idolmaster songs? Somehow this thread made me want to listen to/watch it
>Not Eriko Mimori
They even exchanged rings already.
>Watching non-Gachimuchi OPs
Just spend a
few yearsgoing through the catalog because it's impossible to give specific songs that are really universally liked. Grab the anime and movie or games if you want.
I suppose you could break down the categories by
>non-main-game (like 876 pro songs; I like everything by eri mizutani since it's KanaHana)
>CD specials/albums etc
There's at least a couple hundred songs I'd estimate; some I like and some not so much. It's also subjective; some people like songs like Aoi Toori but I don't, and I like that stupid breakfast song (ohayou asa gohan) and I bet most don't. I mean Ohayou!! is not at all my favorite at all, but just an example because I have fond memories making Chihaya sing it (I guarantee she hates it so much, but she can't refuse what you assign).
The anime isn't that great. To be honest, I got into im@s from watching niconico videos long before the anime came out. The music is probably the best thing that the series has to offer.
Why do people hate Chihaya again?
Is it because she reminds them of themselves?
Hit too close to home?
Because she took way too much time with her bullshit.
Also everyone in the show was jerking off over her singing voice, when in actuality she has no concept of tone, subtlety, or technique.
A lot of shitposters posting mediocre LL songs to false flag.
No im@s song can compete with wonderful rush and snow halation.
And as a former im@sfag, I think their music strategy is just to throw piles of shit at a wall to see what sticks. 99% of their songs are garbage and half of 765 should be pruned. LL is far more consistent and only has 1 shit member (fatayo)
For liking the pure, family-oriented, empathetic, wife-material over the slutty selfish blonde attention whore and literal whore?
I've always found it funny that she is supposed to be the most talented but doesn't actually sound particularly great. I think Chiaki Takahashi is probably the prettiest voice, although she's stuck on a near-background tier idol so people don't pay much attention.
At least the games get some other things right though, like Mami/Ami and Makoto are not supposed to be very talented singers.
I tend to see that Chihaya is fairly well liked.
She's just shy and too often anxious.
She's a lovely grill, but not my perfect cup of tea.
I wish to put a smile on this face.
Side note: Chihaya has a 55cm waist. Touch your middle fingers and thumb together, and then move them away from each other about 2 inches. That's Chihaya's waist. Coincidentally, that's also Miki's waist size.
She's a total drag in the anime, but I liked her in it still. She's better outside of it. People who hate her singing are mostly people who just don't prefer it but constantly feel the need to make up excuses for not liking her. She's a good singer, but they play it up a lot and it can get really annoying.
Yeah, that sounds right.
I guess I feel that way since I couldn't give a shit about idol talent. I like Yayoi because she's a nice friendly person. I hate Miki because she's selfish and vain.
>Rie Kugimiya will never voice hentai
I want to make Umi wear a sexy outfit do soda commercials in sexy outfits
would you lick kana's
Rippi and Yuriko, Erena and 2 other girls (SUTAIRIPPSU!)
>If you talk to fans of the idol genre who liked IM they switched to LL.
I dunno, bro. I'll admit I'm not a LL fan, so I don't particularly go out looking for the the threads, but from what I've seen from my years of lurking 2chan and yaraon, the fans of LL and the fans of iMAS seem to mostly be different people. It could be that most of the fans of iMAS today are new, but hey, how am I to know. I do see a lot of complaining about LL's use of CGi, though.
>If you look at fanart, it's shifted to LL.
I don't know about that. Both of the series have never really been that popular in terms of fanart, but I don't think the steam has been shifted to one side terribly.
>Will IM come back? Maybe.
Why are you trying to come off as an expert on this, while you sit in your armchair?
>Of course IM has made more money in total. It's been around since 2005.
CG alone (iMAS's new cash cow) outsells LL. That's what I meant.
And sorry for the late reply. But what can I say? It's Saturday night. I was sleeping.
Only if we get Tadokoro Azusa to voice the SIF Shizuku.
Idol Drama is obligatory.
Idol Drama makes every Idol Anime better.
Thus spake Yamakan, saviour of Japan, Idols, the economy, re-creator of the Industry, Prophet in the flesh, peace be upon him.
Reminderr that Kaya's and Nanami's Character Songs will be released next month on the 5th of November.
>Bokura no Live Kimi no to Life
>not Bokura wa ima no naka de
Honoka I find grows on you over time
I hated Love Live but I liked im@s so much I bought the games and (some of) the DLC.
The cast is a lot more diverse in personality, and have their own stories and such. To me all of the Love Live girls are just boring and seem like all the same "hard working high school idol" persona. I didn't really care about any except 3.
No doubt about that. im@s makes a shitload of money.
Want to know why the DLC is so expensive? Because people will buy them anyways. If im@s was really declining at all, the products should be getting cheaper. But they're only getting even higher, nickel and diming you especially with this EX episode shit.
This is so retarded, I can't believe there are people who take these discussions like it's it's some political debate and actually post like this. Kill yourself you fucking autist.
Young riho sing so good, it really fits on her image. Pile also good, probably if she stay on KR probably she's one of the popular KR pop-idols (include some surgery, it's normal on KR though)
I like both series, they both upside and down like LL has no power voice like on IM@S has chihaya and azusa(ex. tonari ni, yakusoku). but IM@S has no genki like honoka and rin (mermaid festa vol 2.) and chipmunks voice like kotori and hanayo surprisingly fit each other(ex. kohaku biyori desu!)
In my opinion, IM@S anime do the drama(chihaya) better than LL(kotori and honkers drama)!
>ex. kohaku biyori desu
Oh god, my PTSD.
Why did you have to say that name?
I remember some TM character when i heard the name of the song (specifically tsukihime).
Takane favorite 765Pro.
Ranko & Mika favorite CGs.
As for LL, I just want to fuck this girl silly >>115123463
This looks like the same LL pictures I see every thread mixed with half serious idol show trolling comparisons.
The same old stupid LL im@s rivality that doesn't even exist outside some fans minds all over again.
I like Idolmaster characters and stories way better but in my opinion Love Live just has far catchier and fun music. IM@S music feels like nerd anime music, Love Live has music that wouldn't be out of place for AKB or any real idol group.
>LL has no power voice
Did you have to post such BS when using my screencap?
Comparing the two franchises in itself seems seems rather pointless anyways, they're way too different in all aspects except for both having something to do with idols.
>im@s girls are all bland
>LL has no good vocalist!
>im@s has no goods songs
Sometimes I wonder how people enjoy spouting this nonsense without even knowing anything they talk about.
Holding hands would be much more fun
Idolm@ster characters have more depth and development but they feel like anime characters. They don't act like real idols at all.
Love Live characters all feel like "real idols"; not as in realistic but in Japan all idols put up fake cute girls personas as part of the experience; the LL girls act exactly the way in which you see the AKB or whatever girls act in front of the camera. So it's like a real idol group in perfect 2D.
Just one scene, but it's so fucking weird.
The anime isn't all there is to Idolm@ster. They have like 10 different manga series, 6 games (7 if you count DS), and two card games (even if 765 Pro only truly appears in one).
Comparing soldier game to tonari ni, you can sing soldier game without panting or need to much air in your lungs. try to sing the last part of tonari ni.
I don't know?
>but IM@S has no genki
It is pointless which is why we keep having these threads. We can say anything we want and call each others' tastes shit. People have to stop liking what other people don't like.
>I don't know?
And exactly this is the problem with nearly everyone in these threads claiming to know anything about music.
Except the issue with Love Live is there's literally nothing consistent. The way they are in the anime isn't the same in the drama cd's, nor is it the same in the manga, nor is it the same in the School Idol Diaries. I think the only thing consistent is SIF and the School Idol Diaries. They all act differently in each of the media, it's fucking ridiculous really.
All I want is for people not to open their mouth in butt hurt if they don't know what they're talking about. I know I'm asking too much but I simply can't accept a lower standard. Call me elitist or something.
>These threads are garbage anyway and should be removed.
How are they different? Aren't they both in the Sakurakoverse? Haven't checked them out yet.
I think Im@s still feels way more like a idol anime even if the girls are totally off simply because LL is more SoL comedy hijinks with idol spice. Also, the only one with a fake persona is Nico, can't count love arrow shoot.
There are some songs in LL that do have more need for actual singing skills like No Brand Girls, Wonderful Rush and Kanashimi no Hate but all in all, neither of those two franchises have that much to do with actual singing skill. Yes, Chihaya isn't as good either.
Many of the seiyuu can do a lot better than they do in the series music sometimes but are probably directed to stay in character and fit the role more. If you actually want to discuss musical skill in idol anime you'd have to look at the compsoer and arrangers working on the songs.
In the anime nico is grumpy and scheming (this is best nico)
In the manga she is genki with a little scheming. Some Nicofags love this version because she is just so perfect in every way
From what I've seen in the other manga (only around five chapters out) she is just a useless moeblob
We were talking about the difference between SID manga and the normal manga which are both written by Sakurako.
I've read the normal manga and what's translated of the diaries but not the SID manga and someone here claimed they are different so I asked them what was different, after all there are as you mentioned only a few chapters out.
I fucking hate you if you hate on the dance sequence in the idolmasters movie, it was freaking amazing
>B-BUT IF YoU PAUSE IT YOU CAN NOTICE THE QUALITY ;_;
fuck off. it looked amazing in motion
Just try and watch this without choking up.
Know why im@s anime is so shit? It's because of the fucking producer. All that lame ass screen time could've been used to expand on the characters rather than showing that featureless husk of a man fumbling about.
It didn't have to be that way. He's just there to move the plot to the next step but l'm saying the writing of the storylines would be a lot stronger if he didn't exist at all. They could solve problems by depending on each others strengths but instead we get the producer that doesn't do anything.
Not this again. The franchise is called The iDOLM@STER.
The Idol Master.
Producer is the master of idols, and you are meant to be that master when you play the games.
In the anime, he doesn't get all that much focus really. Plus, anime producer was a good, likeable character.
>In the anime, he doesn't get all that much focus really
He was the main focus in practically every episode, other than Yayoi's episode and part of Chihaya's arc. For the most part, the girls were just their to bounce off of him.
What other anon is saying is that it would have been better if the girls bounced off each other instead.
What sucks is that Chihaya is actually super adorable in the games. Most of the time she isn't so much emo and glum as she is trying to act cool and focused, but it isn't hard to drag some awkward-blushing girlishness out of her.
>CG alone (iMAS's new cash cow) outsells LL. That's what I meant.
It doesn't sell that well, not any more. If they released the anime 2 years ago, at its peak, they'd have raked in cash like no tomorrow.
