>better character designs
>film grain adding texture
>slight imperfections in lines
>darker color palette
Will new anime ever reach the same level as before?
Most of the visionaries are either dead or retired. I wouldn't expect much more from the generation that took anime and manga to its heights.
The worst taste.
Shame Yasuhiko didn't direct more. Giant Gorg and Venus Wars are fantastic.
>Slight imperfection in lines
This has been bothering me a lot recently. I know they use computer assists for most animation nowadays, but things like every character having a literally triangular chin (UFOTABLE I'M LOOKING AT YOU) and perfectly oval eyes is beginning to get annoying.
It might have been ok if you only talk about the visuals , but I must still ask you to throw yourself off a fucking cliff for mentioning it alongside actual decent anime.
>While your point is true
Not really. Art wise, modern series are behind. Visionary character designers like Akio Sugino, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and Norio Shioyama are few in number today.
watching old animes is stupid.
why watch bad shows when we've improved so much in the past century?
>I can't watch anything pre-2000. It all looks like shit.
Yeah, it really has gone up in quality, didn't it?
Truth be told, I'm with the notion that both types of animu are goat and shit in their own ways.
90% of everything is shit.
People are who say things are/used to be better have only been exposed to that good 10%.
are you 12 or something? even though everyone here hates nostalgia fagging, no one can deny having watched at least one of the following back then:
if you did miss these, i seriously pitty you.
Before doing anything wrong here, please inform me about which kind of animation seems to be in your favour.
It won't ever be the norm, every successful industry eventually starts cutting corners, and if the sales keep coming, they'll keep doing it until they find out how much shit they can get away with.
It's too late, you'll find some gems here and there though.
>he said he has not watched pre 2005, so lets better mention the least known ones, that seems logical
all of these except the hot cat's eyes are shit. why havent you mentioned inuyasha tho, then you shit list would be perfect.
But Ranma is really good though.
>all of these except the hot cat's eyes are shit.
genderbender was and will always be shit, havent read the manga tho
calling this one shit might have been a bit overboard in the heat of the moment, but it seriously was not to my liking.
There are anime that are better than their respective manga, and there are anime that aren't.
Ranma definitely belongs into the second category. Just the art style change rubs me the wrong way already.
