ITT: Brief moments of wisdom in animu and mango
This isn't wisdom, when you die you don't think anything because you're fucking dead.
At which point you'd be too busy worrying about "fuck I'ma die now".
Surely you mean moving in together and starting a family, right?
Coala-chan felt that he was reborn as a human-coala hybrid because his soul was lacking something from his previous human life. He spent a good 10 minutes talking about breaking the cycle of life and concluded that living the best he could could be a solution.
I wish I had the long one where Gintoki is trying to convince Hasegawa to move into an apartment.
are you stressed because of work, family, or relationship problems?
Are you tried of focusing your time and energy on projects and activities without seeing any positive results?
Do you feel like you have the weight of the world crashing down on your shoulders?
Try not giving a fuck!
>Want to stop giving a fuck
>Intellectually understand that life is nothing more than a brief flare of existence between 15 billions years of non-existence and an eternity of non-existence
>Whether you live a successful and happy life fulfilling every dream or dying alone as an old, sick person who never reached any of his goals won't matter, because it will be as if nothing had ever been
>Still a victim of the chemical substances in the mind, making me want to give a fuck and worry about stuff
Well, thanks for the depressing thread everyone.
Now your problem is you give too much of a fuck about not giving a fuck.
Just go with the flow. Stop thinking about not giving a fuck because otherwise you'll never not give a fuck.
Join the grey corps of apathy today and receive a free ring of powerlessness, or don't, it's not like I care.
I guess this thread was destined to devolve into pseudo-intellectualism and NEETs talking/blogging out their ass from the start.
>Sora no Woto
That shit is no laughing matter
Even Gintama's episode names are deep
so where did that aspect of miyu's personality, being unable to accept anything that isn't wholly logical, come from considering that she's the holy grail from another dimension who was raised as a magical tool?
were they just making the story up as they went along?
We should really start a /fita/ general or something.
Working out is hella fun!
0/10 try to be a little less obvious next time
I enjoyed the resurfacing topic of talent in Hyouka. While it doesn't really say anything deep, the topic itself was presented well enough. It really is suffering to be around people with talent. I can't remember which other series talked about this but I remember discussing this very topic on /a/ before. Possibly Sakurasou, not sure.
Most of the things Yang Wenli ever said (or thought).
Not only him. Even Bittenfeld felt like making poetic remarks occasionally.
Teppuu characters had an amazing amount of depth, real shame it got axed.
Tactical genius and poet. Truly, Bittenfeld was best LOTGH.
>At which point you'd be too busy worrying about "fuck I'ma die now".
Only if you die in an accident or due to a sudden unexpected medical problem like a stroke. If you die because of old age or terminal illness you have lots of time to think about what you did or didn't do when you lived.
Thanks to war and threat of war in general through all of history.
Not to mention shitloads of change in social understanding and branches of philosophy.
Is absolutely retarded.
First step, have nice parents with money or live in a country that has a nice social system. Then proceed to sit at home in front of your computer with no worries about what you eat and where you sleep. Now stop giving a fuck, you will see it's very easy.
In case you're not able to get financially supported by relatives or the state you will have a much harder time to not give a fuck and I can't give you any advice.
I know that now, anime taught it to me.
There are solutions for those lacking financial resources.
>Is absolutely retarded.
That is kinda the point. The source anime, Excel Saga, is a slapstick comedy where that girl wages war against the entire world as part of an secret evil organisation. Each of the episodes is a parody of a single genre or has some other catch. The episode in question was a parody about B-grade action movies where such silly and deep-sounding things were suddenly stuffed in out of nowhere.
Long story short, the purpose of that picture was not to be a good bit of wisdom but instead contain a deliberately bad and oversentimental quote. It was used as an attempt at humour, understood by the people who have seen the anime.
This precept guides every action I take in this life.
I read this somewhere too. They look like a bunch of no-life full time hardworker but they actually just act busy without actually accomplishing anything much, just for the sake of looking busy. How can so much creativity come from a bunch of ineffective fucks like them?
>don't live provisional lives or die provisional deaths
No matter how many times I see that, that line is pretty damn good.
>they actually just act busy without actually accomplishing anything
Only after I visited Japan I could see this so clearly. But they are really good at hiding the fact that they're not doing much since the rest of the world still believes they are such diligent and hard workers.
Why do you do it? I'll live NEET life for as long as I can and sudoku myself if I no longer can, rather than work some shitty job for nothing.
That is actually not deep at all, but it's not supposed to be. One of the great achievments of Hyouka is the evolution of how Houtarou views thing, talent included. During the events of the posted image he was in a very dark place, his ego was pretty much crashed, and so he had very pessimistic view of the matter. But if he had the same conversation by the end of the series his response would have been entirely different.
>That is actually not deep at all
Which is actually what I said. That episode is strangely one of my favourites exactly because of how gloomy he is in it, I wanted more of that.
Yes. Want to learn how to draw? Grab a pencil and a paper in this moment. Want to learn Japanese? Start memorizing the kanjis this instant. Want to return to society? Call for an appointment with the shrink now.
because i still live with my parents but they got too old to work and now i have to keep them alive with my money - meanwhile i am in debt because too much mobage ever since i got a credit card ;_;
>Which is actually what I said
yeah sorry should have just quotted you. Anyway I don't think gloomy Houtarou would have worked out very well, he has no chemistry with the rest of the cast in a state like that.
I liked more the moment he realised he was not special, when the world lost all it's colour. And it's not like anything too dramatic happend, but I think everyone can sympathise with him because receiving such a heavy blow to your ego is pretty much a universal thing.
A pretty cliche line, but it's true.
Sakurasou pretty much goes for the hard work > talent standpoint, while Hyouka's Festival arc cements the writer's view of talent > hard work in 3 different stories.
The Majikoi VN of all things also goes with the latter.
Also that thing Yozora said about men going nuts for breasts and blonde hair.
People who neglect to make efforts or who don't take any actions at all are always the ones who dream that someday they will suddenly become wildly successful. — Misaki Nakahara
>everything else is irrelevant
>Implying they don't want dick
Woman want men who're straightforward, have muscles and know how to make them feel good. Dosh is optional
unless we're including unfertile barren grannies
>Between the real thing and an indistinguishable fake, which has greater value?
The one that's been done well.
Sure, the epic of Gilgamesh has cultural value, but story wise it's pretty bland and unoriginal. It's also "the original" for every shounen fightan story ever. Is it better than those? Not always.
Now you're generalizing. The important thing is, are you a loner by choice? I know I am, I enjoy solitude and I don't like interacting with other people for longer periods of time. If you're not, then like in that image, you're secretly craving for a normal life and just living a lie.
It all makes sense now...
I always cringe knowing there's some highscholler who reads this line, thinks that's the deepest and "ONG SO TRUE LIFE IS HARD FOR A SNOWFLAKE LIKE ME" thing ever and wallows in self-pity.
Sometimes, I think that /a/ is inhabited by anime protagonists.
I mean, there is no way this could've been written by actual human beings, right? People just don't talk like that.
I hope that, whoever these anons are, they're ashamed of themselves.
You can't argue with autism anon
Ashamed of what? Of freely expressing their opinions on an anonymous imageboard? Come on. None of us would say this shit out in real life. The only place where we can do that without being laughed out of the venue is this board. Right here.
I don't think you hate that as much as you say you do... You're here for a reason after all. No matter how much we hate each other we're all stuck here forever. I don't think this place will be around in a couple of years, so all the more we must cherish every moment.
I hope you realize you're no different from those faggots who just greentext you with some smug anime reaction image and think they've accomplished something. If you're not willing to argue, don't post at all. People like you are the reason why there's rarely any constructive criticism around anymore, because most anons are too lazy to write more than a few sentences.
What? No, I'm not mocking them. It, just, well, smells of full-blown chuuni, I guess. Entertaining, though. Did not mean to write "ashamed" there - "embarassed" would be more fitting.
I was amused by them. I remember a couple of some really egregious offenders, but I can't find them right now.
I'm 2 hours late but I had to post to inform you that you're fucking gay if wouldn't go for Roro's roros.
Why is midget deadmau5 talking to a tree from The Lorax?
I don't have it screencapped.
"If the theory of fundamental good is an ideal, the theory of fundamental evil is simple realism. Desire lies at the core of human nature. And humans are ruled by those desires. That was the less tactful theory of Xun Zi. He claimed that humans are born evil. Thus, if a person does good, that is not their true self, but a lie. That was his theory. It would be a lie, a fake, and due only to hypocrisy...Phony. And thus, by definition, deliberate. He said all good is thereby hypocrisy, and therefore one must make a deliberate attempt to be good.
Given the real thing and an indistinguishable fake, which is worth more? The real thing and a fake...Naturally, my response was that the real thing is worth more.
Although Oshino-kun asserted they have an equal value.
But here is Kaiki-kun's argument: The fake is of far greater value. In its deliberate attempt to be real, it's more "real" than the real thing."
Bro, being chuuni is fucking awesome. Look all the sites on the internet. You have forums full of users that are pantsu on head retarded. People who try to be funny or act mature while they're actually all fresh out of middle school. People who know nothing on a topic but "contribute" to the topic anyway.
When I come on here... I like to think that the average anon is someone who, while able to act maturely, has a great sense of humour and is always, always ready to passionately pour his emotions out on any subject no matter how embarrassing it might be. And that is amazing in itself.
You should stick around for the New Years' celebration sometime. Nothing you posted compares with the shit that happens during them.
>not a sheltered brat with no worthwhile opinion
Your particular screencap isn't something creative, though. The message behind it might or might not be genuine and wholehearted, but the form is just as important - if a man can't express his feelings without defaulting to a mimic of someone else's thoughts, then they can hardly be considered his own.
I'm too weak to buy a daki, I'm a NEET and I think my stepfather would beat me. Forgive me..
You never posted any evidence for your own hypothesis.
Nice pic, haven't seen that version before.
And you are sheltered, your experience is limited, and I doubt you have ever truly encountered 'evil'. You should be cautious about claiming absolutes because the world is extremely more complex than you are allowing.
Is it bad that I wrote all of those?
It isn't my fault, society is working against me!
This thread turned into some kind of feces throwing contest.
How much money do anime studios make off merchandise licenses? For example a Figma, Nendoroid or scale figure.
I wanna start supporting them when i get the chance, since I rarely buy DVDs or Blurays due to streams.
is so over the top ridiculous edgemaster bullshit it doesn't deserve any sort of meaningful analysis, it smacks of a thirteen year olds understanding of the world
>i base my decisions on cold hard facts and distrust human kindness
>i hoard my resources because life is a zero-sum game
>i make plans and counter-plans ...everything according to keikku
>i am coldsteel the hedgehog
It's uninteresting self-evident tripe distorted through the lens of a misanthrope.
>why does 8man conform to societies norms if he professes to hate them?
Are you seriously asking why a High School boy isn't ripping of all his clothes and living off the land? Or why he's not dropping out of school to pursue his rock band of some shit? It's obviously because he doesn't have the skills or resources to do those things - he literally has no choice in the matter. Sure he could drop out and scrape by on online freelance work or something but the path he's currently on promises much better returns in exchange for stomaching things he finds objectionable. Just like literally anything else in life.
>You are merely a bitter teenager who needs to move on
Grats on comprehending the main point of the show.
>I don't like the premise of a show, it would be better if it were x or y
Too bad it's not.
>Hard work blah blah blah
Not everyone has some weird hate boner which makes them incapable of accepting and enjoying a free ride.
But really that's mostly a rant about how humans should be responsible for their own accomplishments and failures and a 'cat god' is an insult to that philosophy but that's bullshit. No matter what a person accomplishes in life it's done on the backs of hundreds or thousands of other people. There is no 'individual achievement' because humans are social creatures and our lives are inexorably tied to one another. Even doing nothing - posting on /a/ - is dependent on a society to provide electricity...
Anyone here watch Barakamon?
The scene where Hiroshi sees SENSEI's room of calligraphy, and realizes he's been blaming his failure on "lack of talent", when in reality he's never truly tried hard at anything in his life.
That hit too close to home
There are a lot of christian heresies advocating the "God is evil" point of view. I'm reading a book on this, it's pretty interesting. "Heresy" means "choice" in ancient Greek, and every heresy is simply a different interpretation of the texts.
hit the character limit but you get the point right? Trying to take sole credit for anything you do is absurd, at the very least you need to acknowledge your parents for enabling your existence, and if you can acknowledge them why not a cat god?
It's all the same. Failing or not, you're just wishing for some sort of acknowledgment from society which is pathetic in itself. Just be happy with yourself and stop thinking what other people think.
>stop thinking what other people think.
So, for example, I should not think that "wishing for some sort of acknowledgment from society . . . is pathetic" nor should I think that I should "[j]ust be happy with [my]self "? Is that your message?
$2.5 billion for being a half ass retard programmer
he knows he's a one hit wonder and will never make anything amazing and he got lucky with minecraft
You're right. I still think having a negative outlook on life is the basis of a hopeful life. If you only expect the worst, then everytime you hope for something, that something is better than your expectations. When facts validate your hopes, then it validates the part of you that is hopeful. When facts validate your expectations, then you were right, so good for you.
Hoping for good things to happen and expecting bad things to happen (while preparing for them) isn't mutually exclusive.
Sure, because Beethoven just sat down in front of a piano one day and could play really well instead of being forced by his father to practice for hours every day from the age of six. Or basically any other good pianist for that matter.
"Talent" is often just an excuse used by lazy people who don't want to put in any effort.
It's more an adage to not let yourself give up because some people seem to be intrinsically talented or unnaturally lucky. Of course the world is unfair and you get tons of situations like that, but you yourself cannot hope and depend on talent or luck falling into your lap if you want to be successful.
>NEETs concerned over employment, technological inventions, scientific development, social lives or culture
I don't think you know what NEETs are. Also, this kind of future describes modern cultures, like Japan, right now. Unemployment is rampant, NEETs are being common, men and woman aren't interested in marriage or families, despite needing a stable population to maintain their society and suicides are still higher in comparison to other countries.
Do you really think people who are concerned over these societal issues are advocating shunning society? Because they seem to want the opposite, they want to invoke change.
Those are special cases and no reason to give up. Unless you're obsessed with being the best, having a better does not invalidate your work and effort. A talented hard worker would get nowhere if everyone else simply gave up and refused to try. It's sort of shitty but it is why being humble is generally considered a positive thing.
I cringe everytime when someone post this
Success is subjective and largely influenced by society as well. Getting by and being happy could be one person's success and hard work can, in the right societies, provide that. The world isn't perfect and you'll have to deal with finding out that everything people have promised you is not what you're going to get, but you have to adjust or it will drive you crazy. That's not to say society isn't screwing everyone over for the benefit of the upper elite, but that is an entirely different subject.
being successful =/= being good at something
To become successful, neither talent nor hard work are particularly important, being lucky/good at selling whatever shit you produce is.
To become good at (i.e. produce constant above average results at) something requieres hard work first and foremost.
Yep. Existencialism shouldn't have ever existed, it's basically the cancer and the burden of our ocidental society. Doubting your self is utter shit. Most of the people barely can clean their asses correctly, how they can judge their lives in that condition?
People aren't logical, not as much as would be liked. They're going to waste time and energy on a lot of things when there are more immediate and pressing issues at hand. I think it sometimes produces amazing results, even if most of the time nothing comes of it.
Gintama had lots of these sorta moments.
Read up and down starting from the upper left
This shows that Shinka is trult the best girl (not counting Touka)
Sure. It's just that for most people (see >>113855359 ) success is measured by the amount of money you earn/people who know your name.
If you believe being able to produce better results at something than most other people are capable of (or even just to produce something that you yourself are happy with, no matter how it compares to anything else) I definitely support that. At least I think obtaining happiness is a lot easier that way.
I think a lot of us are victims of this peer pressure. Society from early days in school urges everyone to aim high and become rich or famous. There's no room for just enjoying things and being happy. Capitalistic ideals are largely at fault for this.
Value? Who's talking about value? There is no "value," there's only shit you make up to determine what's good and what's bad. Screw that. A person should express themselves freely, without thinking about what others think. So what if they smile at you or not? So what if you smile at them or not? When the smile comes, smile.
I'm sure that thinking in do some "problem-resolving" job or using your time to improve an ability of yours is more productive than act like you are aware of yourself. Being an quase-hobo in a flat is not freedom or liberty or rather being safe. Is idiocy camouflated.
Slightly less. They play different roles that can or not give some assistance for me, but they play different roles for others, so they aren't a problem as long they do not harm anyone or anything. As long, your participation benefit peoples around you, you're doing the basic duty of every human and son of God.
It can't be rationalized in numbers. A engineer is slightly more important than a cook, a medic is slightly more important than a sanitarist. They're all important gears in different roles in society. A society can't be only comprised by meds or by sanitarists. They all have the right to live and attempt to exclude'em is a attempt of idiocy itself.
Valuable lessons have been learned.
