A few months ago I was checking out some random shit on exhentai and looked up Rockman, cause why the hell not. After a couple boring galleries, I see an intriguing doujin cover that featured something like glowing outlines of X and Zero on it, and I told myself it would be a good idea to check it out.
I regret it to this day.
I didn't bother looking at the tags or anything, I just started reading from the first page. It starts off (I guess after X5 or something) by X and Zero getting organic, human bodies by some scientists.
After they get out of some pods, they are approached by some OC scientist that takes them to a private lab where he shows them their previous bodies getting researched and used for mass production for some reason. Soon, he leads them to a huge hallway full of copied bodies of X and Zero and just... leaves. After that, the clones start approaching human X and Zero and touching them.
What followed then is the most disgusting, repulsive and vile guro I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. This was so terrifyingly well-drawn that I wonder if the person who made it was completely sane. I am not exaggerating when I say this is easily on the level of Hell Season. I will not get into much detail as I came out a different person after reading it, because SOMETHING kept me going to see how far the rabbit hole goes. And it goes way deeper than it ever should.
It ends with the scientist watching the... massacre from some separate room and laughing to himself how it's just the beginning or something.
I tried finding it again to link it, but I swear to God I can't find it. I know it seems like a bunch of bullshit, but I legitimately think it's been deleted, believe me or not. It's probably for the best.

Instead, they've discovered private sites, private FTP, private IRC channels, etcetera. It makes sense as technology frees them to associate with other like-minded collectors willing to share with each other.

As a result, the chinese doujin uploaders filled the vaccum on sadpanda. But some of the chinese "C86" uploads aren't really C86 doujins. They were older doujins released at different conventions, but labeled C86 in order to take advantage of publicity and users searching for C86 downloads. The more that visit and download those mislabeled galleries, the more GP they earn.

But there tends to be so much negative shit when it comes to porn that it feels really pointless to share anything with huge groups. And I'm saying porn specifically because I also used to share manga scans and I never got so much shit thrown at me for simply buying and scanning what I personally like or for being a few days late.
So having a private group with a few appreciative people is less about feeling like a god who is worshipped but overall about a friendlier atmosphere. I think this is important. People want content providers who work for free to be kind and selfless enough to work for and share with the community but also want them to be emotionless and hard enough to not get discouraged or phazed by any pointless negative feedback. That's not how it works for most people though. If you care enough about a community to selflessly put in extra work and share with them you also care about what they have to say.

Talking about independent scanners, I think some of them really do great work for the community. Princess Sakura scanned some really old Yamaguchirow doujinshi in high-res. That was great. Viacheslavovich provides good magazine raws when he can. Kalevala and captcarisma are very awesome because they're great doujinshi bounty hunters. S0B scans everything Tenchi. Some of the Chinese groups share their raws, which is great.

I think that people who share doujinshi as a great part of the community. I'd rather they share than not share at all for the greater community.

Obviously, not everyone's tastes will align, but that shouldn't be a deterrence to what they scan.

I actually agree with this. Even though I don't have a billion golds, I could still DDL and pay the gallery uploader instead. Gone are the times when the uploader made a torrent along with their galleries, now they're getting ninja'd so they don't even bother anymore.

I understand Pixiv galleries, at least they're usually reposting over 100 images. But this is freely available stuff that can be found by anyone interested in it within a second.
