Do people actually buy the titles? Or is it mostly libraries across the country that are major buyers of the english-translated manga? In my area, manga doesn't last long at the library because people pirate it right away and thus no one ever gets to check it out after that.

Personally, for localized/english volumes. Amazon, quick shipping and it's usually 2-4 dollars off the cover price you'd pay if you walked into a Barnes and Noble. So like 8 dollars instead of 6 in Japan but awesome. Unless you get the large volume/omnibus volumes of a series. Like blood lad or Gunslinger girl then you're looking at, at least 12- 15+ dollars a volume. Still cheaper usually then cover price though.
