There are some really good liquors, wine and beer for example make really good casual drinks for when you are alone and you still want to get a kick. The hard stuff like rum, whiskey (or bourbon), vodka, etc requires a little more knowledge and experience drinking to actually savor it, they tend to be a little more expensive too, at least in my country.
