>If you want my opinion ping pong was so fucking predictable it made me wanna cry. Sob story about how he was picked on as a kid
his "hero" helped him and they played in the finals because they were both really good and ofc the guy threw the match at the end just like 50 years ago when the dude threw the match for the famous guy. Whoop dee doo never saw that one coming and wow that other guy became famous? and challenged a world power in a sport? (japan trying to make japan look like it's good at a sport besides baseball) herpderp
My friend's thoughts on Ping Pong
Is he right /a/?

Also, 1st for failure to greentext entire thing.
>>109889201
Who cares, it was an enjoyable anime I enjoyed. It was a cool story with realistic themes. If your friend thinks otherwise, oh well its his opinion.
>friends
Smile didn't throw the match.
>>109889201
Watch out anon, opinions people do not like are thrown away.
>>109889360
I just honestly wanted opinions.
>>109889392
Sucks for my buddy then
>>109889201
Smile didn't throw the game.
Well, not everyone can appreciate everything so it's time to just let that go. Though, you should never stop believing in Ping Pong or what any material means to you, or any of your opinions on the matter. I do fully admit that I loved Ping Pong and came out of it a better person, just out of watching and enjoying the show.
Now then, 2 months to OST hype.

Kill yourself. Maybe take your "friend" with you.

By the way it's worded it seems like he never really gave the show the chance, or was really put off by something early on. On the other hand I had this same complaint about a film with a similar premise.
Oh and Smile didn't throw shit, he got beat down.
I personally loved the series. The singing scene with them as kids really got to me.

He likes Mahouka. I more or less told him to continue watching from Episode 6 because he stopped watching because he hated the art.
>>109889901
Meant to also quote

>>109889901
>likes Mahouka
There is absolutely no reason to value his opinion on Ping Pong in any way. I guess he is not used to realistic characters.
>>109889980
Well he justifies it a little by liking the LN's more. He considers the anime shit.
That's that
>>109889901
Man I'll tell you the reason why I was inclined to watch this series and why Mahouka's only still in my back-log.
I was searching for something different for a change. I'm pretty sure you can't force a person to try something different if they don't feel like it. Maybe one day your friend will find himself in the same situation. Tell him to rewatch Ping Pong then.
>>109889901
>>109890028
Ah, I expected as much but I didn't want to jump to conclusions. Assuming you enjoy his companionship take this anon's advice >>109890225
I probably would of written off Ping Pong when i was younger as well.
>>109890225
I was pretty much on a search for something different and it amounted to me loving Chaika because I miss anime like Slayers that focused on adventure and fights.
Maybe he will or maybe he won't. He's read more sports series than I do and the only sports series I really ever liked was Slam Dunk. I guess he's somewhat fed up with predictability.
I don't know, I can't imagine people not getting a bit emotionally attached when everybody was decently developed. Akuma's wake up call for Peco was another one of my favorites
>>109890420
If anything I ain't mad at him for anything. Only that this was one of the first times in memory when we were in a disagreement.
He likes his characters strong and overpowered but not in a Gary Stu-ish kind of way. That may sound like bullshit but he honestly isn't a betafaggot in real life so he self-inserting isn't really an issue.
Also, you could not imagine how much I wanted to find pic related.

>I can't imagine people not getting a bit emotionally attached when everybody was decently developed.
I agree. Man, Kong ditching his arrogance and spending Christmas with his team and his mother, singing karaoke made me shed fucking tears.
I'll see if I can gather some of myfriendsand spend Christmas with them, watching Ping Pong. Most of them have forgiving tastes and have been watching anime for a long time, so I doubt they'd disagree with a little change of pace.

Series had a lot of beautiful moments. I have a semi-relatable experience with appreciating my parents so that part really got me.
Really been a while since an anime really got me on an emotional level.
>>109890797
I hope the guy who voiced him has more roles (that are just as fitting) in the future.
>>109890996
Peco is legitimately new and my god what a way to start a career
>>109890996
This picture made me tear up. What a masterful show.
>>109891702
I feel for Akuma and Kong
Thanks for the nice discussion all
