Senketu's dub VA is good, I'm not knocking him he seems like a really cool guy from the videos I've seen. But he seems mis-casted for this. Maybe he will give a good performance and I just need to get used to it.
Still, I was hoping the dub would have something similar to the Japanese.
Ryuuko's VA has potential I guess, it all depends on if she can put emotion into scenes and replicate the way Ami talked.
The Devas were surprisingly good, or at least better then I anticipated
I've seen too little of Satsuki to make an opinion yet.

I guess I still have some hype for the dub, but I can tell the original will be a lot better. Curious who the VA for Takerada and Tsumugu will be.

Why do dubs always flip the names around to our standard? Japs never do that with foreign names. It's always "Bob Johnson-san" not "Johnson Bob-san". They respect their audience's intelligence and assume that their viewers will know, or at least be able to figure out, that other cultures put surnames behind given names, and they respect those cultures by leaving their personal names intact. Why can't English dubs do the same? "Ryuuko Matoi" and "Satsuki Kiryuuin" sound so unnatural and weird.

It's a testament to KLK's horrible fanbase that not even the people on /a/ know how the character's names are pronounced or spelled. Just laughing my ass off at the morons in these threads.

It doesn't sound nearly as bad as I expected. The Elite 4 sound perfect. Way better than I could have hoped. Aikuro sounded pretty good too. Satsuki and Mako will hopefully sound a little better as they get used to their roles. Senketsu's voice sounded a little higher than I would have expected but we'll see how that works out. As for Ryuuko, I'm sure I heard that same voice in some fandub on Youtube. I don't much care for it but it isn't too horrible.

I still really want to hear what Nui and Ragyou will sound like. I guess I will have to wait though.

I think it was just different. It wasn't soothing and deep like his original voice. That being said, it may turn out to be good.
The fact that Aniplex is showing this to a con with Trigger execs and Japanese VAs in attendance makes me thing maybe the trailer isn't as good as the dub once the VAs started to get into rhythm and learn how to play their characters. In every series I can thing of the character's voice changes until it levels out to where the VA is comfortable and can express emotions properly.

I think the real wildcard that will effect the overall quality of the dub is who will voice Hououououmaru?

I'd like to know, for all those who say dubs are worthless toward benefiting the studio, shouldn't part of the blame for that fall on the studios themselves for not asking for better deals, or a share of advertizing revenue for streaming sites like Crunchyroll or Hulu? I mean, Aniplex is actually a Japanese company, not a western one.

What about those Marvel anime Madhouse made a few years back, the ones that were obviously designed for western audiences - did Madhouse just get a flat licensing fee for that, and if so, why even bother making it?
