Everything after the chariot race in part 2 felt more entertaining in the anime. In the manga everything just went by and felt bland. The anime really spiced it up with all the voice acting and the osts.

Eva is trash for pseudo intellectuals, once you take away all the incredibly plot conveninet mecha and MoTW plot you're lift witht this shitty melodrama about akward teenagers put in uncomfortable situations.

I hate it when this garbage gets praise for being realistic becuase if it was realistic plot device berserk mom wouldn't be there to save this boy with zero combat experience from getting killed.

You do have to care a lot, but it doesn't need to be romantic at all.

But the general definition of tsundere in anime has to usually be about romance, think about it? What are some well mentioned tsundere female characers? Rin Tohsaka, Misaka Mikoto, Kurisu Makise, Kirino Kousaka, Chitoge Kirisaki, etc.

She deserves even more hate.
She betrayed her Senpai, she's a worthless piece of shit.

Not all of it because a lot of it is petty and superficial. But some of it is understandable. First off, I think what screwed her a bit was not being endeared to the audience the same way Rin and Saber were.

Next is the fact the protagonist sacrifices the precious ideal for her, this thing the audience had been hit over the head for hours about how dear and wonderful it is and worthy of following even if it leads to a terrible end. This is sacrificed to save a much less than ideal girl. You know all the big deals with Sakura, it doesn't need to be repeated.

But lastly, what I believe really gets people is that the heroine, the love interest, the girl the protagonist sacrificed his cherished ideal to rescue, becomes an antagonist. There are antagonists who are arguably villainous in the story (who Sakura makes short work of), but antipathy toward them is natural. To the audience, Sakura antagonizing her allies comes off as a spit in the face. And her mentality comes off as one of making the world pay for the wrongs done to her and the help she never received. Add to this the other controversies and voila: a tragic heroine is viewed as a despicable one.

I personally don't think she ought to be hated, but she's definitely not easy to swallow. You just can't be too easy or too hard on her, it's not sensible. She's a character you can either accept or not accept.
