the grip looks nonsensical and "undesigned" like it was just filled in without any thought. Just a few random plate seems. And is that a hole for your thumb or something? Thats not gonna be comfortable for your wrist, especially while firing.

Goddamnit, I'm retarded at modelling, and this doesn't necessarily look good (aesthetically), but how the hell do they do this geometry? Particularly the curve? Modelling something that isn't box-shaped or has mostly rectangular faces makes me want to kill myself because I can't into topography.

The pistol grip looks like it's based on an actual pistol, you can see the shape support a magazine well and everything.
A rifle-pistol grip don't look like that since it's only an economical aid where no magazine need to fit inside the hand.
The thumb hole bullpup is a staple of sci-fi design, fine, but the thumb hole looks a bit too tight, would widen it some.
The butt of the rifle looks uncomfortable to shoot. Add a slanting towards the telescopic stock to provide a safer more comfortable cheek rest.
Pic related, look at the cheek rest of this SCAR rifle for example, now Imagine if the butt of the rifle was shaped like on that gun.

The lack of a trigger guard looks real stupid and dangerous to anyone who's ever been around live firearms

If you're knowledgeable about weapons they tend to stop looking cool to you when they have a dysfunctional design.
Also, Op asked how /3/ would improve it, not if it's good enough to sell games.

Most people lack eye for detail and will be just as happy with shit-tier designs as plausible ones because they can't tell the difference.
